At this point, I think there will only be 15 characters. We already know of 12.
4 TMNT, Splinter, Casey, April, Shredder, Foot soldier, Utrom, Rabbid 1, Rabbid 2. Add in Karai with her movie design, and you have 13. Other than that, I expect 2 more characters...Fugitoid was heavily hinted by Peter himself, and Leatherhead is likely. So...that's it. |

You'd be surpised. With a Foot Soldier, they can BS the rest.
Anyways, I hate these Rabbids. It wouldn't be nearly as bad if they were only one and if it was TMNT themed. I just hope there's more characters. There's currently 12 and I've seen fighting games with less (even in this day 'n age) |

Y'know, I don't think we'd be as upset if this was all revealed after the game was released - like the Rabbids were hidden characters that someone found like a day or two after the release. Guest characters aren't inherently bad - I loved playing Akuma in Children of the Atom. It's just got to be done right.

They better at least add Karai and Leatherhead, and I guess Bebop and Rocksteady to give some purpose for the old-school logo thing. But I was also hopinh for some NON-TMNT/Foot characters, which like I said, so far we just got the Utrom. Leatherhead is such a character, how bout a Triceraton?
And IMO The Utrom himself is a waste of space. He replaces Krang, and also dishes out the chances of a robot-Baxter or whatever unless they want 2 big robots in the game. |

Chill, I'm just teasing Peanut because he always used to complain about people from the United States being called Americans (at least, I'm pretty sure that was him... I could be mistaking him for someone on another forum who acts just like him).
I swear, you can't make a joke these days without someone calling foul. |

I don't think we'll get a small roster.
Fighting games usually have huge rosters nowadays, its not the early 90s. They all seem to have a mentality of more = better. Also this is a Smash bros like game, and that series has a lot of characters in its roster. This is a simpler version of that game so its even easier to put a new character in as opposed to Smash bros. Characters can play similar, All the turtles are pretty much clones with slight variations (like Fox/Falco/Wolf in Brawl). And they mentioned the other characters didn't play too different either. So yeah I do think the minimum roster we'll have is around 20, maximum probably around brawl numbers which is like 35. My ultimate wish list? Even if we get tons of clones have a HUGE roster a la DBZ TB2/3. Those games have HUGE 100 character rosters. Most play very similar but are still different enough and you get pretty much every DBZ character ever. I do think it won't be that high numberwise but its my wishlist for the game. Who knows it could happen. Also I do think we'll get a minimum of 20. |

Not really. Take a look at some of the more recent iterations of games. Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe had a paltry 22 characters, down from over 60 in the previous iteration; King of Fighters, which has always prided itself on large rosters, has been shot down to 22 as well. No Street Fighter game following Alpha 3 has even come close to touching that numerical manage of fighters. Hell, even Raging Blast, which is Budokai Tenkaichi's successor, is said to have its roster cut almost in half (time will tell on this one, however).

Those are more like exceptions to the rule.

Or not. Trust me, those were just the examples I could think of off the top of my head. Most of them have to deal with the fact that they're starting brand new off of new technology that they're unused to (like the fact that most of said games are showing up on PS3/360 for the first time), so the rosters have to be slimmed down.

God I'm tired of that lame joke.
And my point wasn't whether or not Smash-Up will have a large roster or not. It was the fact that most modern fighting games have less characters than their predecessors. I was simply correcting a statement you made.
