The fact that the "Classic" Raph proto figure has a snarl on his face instead of a smile makes me think one of the following things is going on:

A) The sculpt is based on the look the turtles had during the first season (and the opening credits), when the turtles tended to have this sort of expressions more often than in the following seasons. That would be nice but as it is kinda similar to the figures we have gotten in the past, I am hoping that the turtles look more like they did on season 2 and onward. Maybe they could have interchangeable heads representing both styles?

B) The sculpt came out wrong. It was supposed to be a smile but ended up looking more like a snarl.

C) It's a mixup. It's actualy Raph from the Archie comics instead of the OT.

were the new figs that were shown, look like they would be a good scale with the technodrome or turtle van from the 87 series line?

At this point, I'm more worried about space issues than money. By the time these come out, it might be pressing on my wallet, but I'll likely be able to afford it. I just don't have the room though! Looks like I need to move!

Make it three of us! My collection (check the subfolders!) is largely dominated by Transformers, but I've been on a vintage TMNT kick lately. Even that's starting to overflow the little space I had cut out for TMNT, and of course Transformers are putting out more product now than ever before. I have to keep finding more creative ways to keep everything on display (screw putting it in boxes in the garage!)

Great news, I am looking forward to these figures. Being based on the intro to season 1 is perfect imo. I also cant wait for the comic figures, if they manage to out do NECA and bring more villains etc that are of very good quality I will be scooping them up.

I have been thinking I maybe done collecting new figures after the TMNT 2k7 movie ones (wasn't a fan of them).

I am looking forward to the whole "classic" line. I'm hoping that if they can keep it going, add things that we as the older generation want. It would also be great if the add the whole BAF to it too for larger characters.

But if we do get a successful Classics line, I hope the figures looks compatible with each other like the MOTUC figures

Since you guys saw vehicles, what exactly do the TMNT drive around in this time?

Another hummer/truck similar to the 2k3 series or Next Mutation? Something that resembles the Turtle Van?

Also, Raph still has a motorcycle?

Um... why? It fits character. Many incarnations of Raph have had a cycle.

It's bad enough that he's overdone all the time to be the bad boy, but to add the motor cycle it's like "See?! He rides a motorcycle! Bad-boy!" as if they need to convince you further. It just annoys me, I think it's cheesy.

You're acting like Playmates actually produces better toys and/or collector figures - which, so far, is horribly false. I have no doubt that even if Playmates finally "upped their game", that if NECA had been allowed to distribute and sell who they wanted to, that NECA would've grossly stomped anything Playmates could put out. We all saw how badly their "Mirage-inspired figures" looked, especially compared to NECA.

& while it's not until 2013 we will get a movie line as well based on the new live action film.
The New show will have the 4 turtles first and other characters to follow (Shredder & Splinter).
All we are aware of regarding an old toon collectors line right now is the 4 turtles.
You may just be surprised and they may just show us stuff at comicon.
I'll be honest with ya, I didn't expect to see more than designs.
I agree if they do this line correctly, it could be huge!
The only suggestion I'd make to them is to include an issue of the comic that the figure is in. It would bring awareness to the old comics and help explain why there is a toy of the character.
The scale is 6 inch like most toy lines.
Thank you so much for all the answers! 3 new lines? I'm gonna have to have a clear out of my display shelves!

If they show stuff at SDCC then I'll be one happy fan, I really wasn't expecting anything this early... or sounding this good!

I've just read through the Pizza Box thread as well (last time I looked it was only a few pages and I thought it was just Nick doing a cool promo to build hype with the fans!), so I just want to say congrats on getting such an awesome experience!!

So is Peter Laird a bad boy too?
