They're talking a lot about "Mutation in Progress", but every. single. time. stuff like this comes up, nothing actually changes. I'd love to be wrong, but I 100% expect to see all of this be completely in place when the show airs. Especially if they already have some toy prototypes out.

Is it just me or do the fights in the show seem slapstick?

In her write-up, she says Leo throws a beehive into Baxter suit and he gets stung by angry Bees. I can just imagine a CG Baxter screaming with his eyes bulging and these "big" bees stinging him over and over.

Honestly, seems like something the old show would have done. Also does this Baxter have any motive? He seems one dimensional.

I was a tad underwhelmed reading it. It was just a pilot though. The turtles seem more like kids do to there antics then teens to me.

The idea that Baxter's own robot suit can't break into the building without the help of Don's AI chip that he found also sounds ridiculous. This is Baxter Stockman, he is a genius and he should be able to do this himself.

Also the way the Turtles, "beat him up" in his first appearance makes him immediately sound like a push over.

I really hope this isn't a sign of the fights to come.

Overall the pilot was very enjoyable and my write-up really does it a disservice. There was nothing slap-stick about anything. I would not make any judgments based on it; it's simply there to give you an idea of what it was.

I don't know why everyone ignored it, but thank you very much for typing out all of those descriptions from the RPG of each individual Turtle. Man, all of those descriptions are deep, well thought out, and over all (in my opinion) captures the early TMNT *perfectly*. I wish NICK would read those! Those are the personality traits that I love, for each respective Turtle. Thanks again, man!

EDIT: Looks like TMNT fandom led me to believe that "ninjitsu" was the correct spelling of the word, cause it looks like they spelled it like that on the RPG, too!

Seems like this series' Shredder will continue to be a mystery. There's not much information of him yet, and so far he hasn't been seen in action (from what I've heard from the lucky people who were invited to the Nickelodeon studios).

I'm sorry I'm so obsessed with The Shredder. He's kinda the main reason I started watching TMNT, even before I figured out he was an Utrom. That just made him more awesome, in my opinion. Oh well.

I've read all the write-ups I could find. Seems like Baxter Stockman won't be as bad-ass as he was in the '03 series. Having trouble with breaking into a building? That's not how I see Baxter Stockman.

You'd be reading that wrong. The conjunction includes a second object to that prepositional phrase rather than joining two independent clauses.

Based on Rose's post in her blog, I think this looks like it'll be good. I don't mind slapstick as long as there's some good fighting in there. But remember, this was just a pilot, and things can be changed in time. I'm excited for this to come out with each new thing I learn about, minus the April thing. But you already know how I feel about that, so I won't repeat myself.

A lot of the time when people bandy evolution around they mean it as a goal orientated process. Things evolve to become better all around. Superior in all ways. But that's giving evolution a directionality it shouldn't have. Yes species evolve over time, but only just enough to skirt around a selection pressure, and not to achieve some sort of high and mighty Platonic ideal.

Or maybe it's easier to say: evolution isn't a new program version, but rather a patch for a bug. And not all patches are good ones.

Someday I aspire to talk the English good. Today isn't that day....tomorrow isn't looking so hot either.

In my post I put "youngest" in quotations because I think it's lame that he gets delegated as the youngest just because his personality lends itself to a younger audience. I know plenty of people who are more mature than others that are older than them. Again, a stale stereotype. But like I said, I'm just going to chalk it up to how young they are and I'll just pretend they don't all stay in that size ratio.

A lot of the time when people bandy evolution around they mean it as a goal orientated process. Things evolve to become better all around. Superior in all ways. To add, every organic being on this planet is being naturally selected/unconsciously selected as we speak. It's an ever changing process that has no end. Perfection is in the eyes of the beholder, but to mother earth there is no perfection. It's a universal process. Gobo, maybe I am misinterpreting your post, but evolution isn't something that you can really put a time-tag on.
