Favorite TMNT episode(s) - Page 3

Same as it Never was, was my favorite. It's not an overrated episode of a lot of people claim it to be there favorite.

The Exodus episodes are my next favorites. Any of the episodes that involved a climatic fight with the Shredder was good!

I'm not familiar with whether he's actually good or not.

I'm just saying that a lot of people claiming it's the best episode is evidence for it being overrated, rather than evidence that it's not.

This make's no sense? Generally people like things because they are well enjoyable and/or good. Even Peter Laird has listed it as one of his favorite episodes.

It's not overrated, it's just simply a good episode.

Anyway my favorites by season:

Season 1:
"Shredder Strikes Back Part 1"

Season 2:
"Battle Nexus Part 2"

Season 3:
"Real World Part 1"

Season 4:
"Ancient One"

I need to finish my current re-watch before I finish my favorites for the rest of the seasons!

It makes perfect sense. I'm not arguing whether it's good/bad/overrated/underrated, I'm saying that too many people liking it is what makes people think it's overrated in the first place. I don't know what was hard to understand, hopefully this clears it up.

Oh, and I'm disappointed in the lack of Next Mutation episodes in these pages. I suppose that the thread is about TMNT rather than NT, so I guess that would explain it.

I like the episodes where Krai is the Shredder, I find Karai as the Sredder to be cool. I like New World Order, it's fun to watch

And I'm going to try one last time to explain this. My point is that the post above saying that it CANNOT be overrated if a lot of people like it makes no sense. When something is overrated it means that too many people like it, or rate it higher than it deserves. Not saying this is the case with this episode, just that that comment doesn't really prove anything.

Consider if it was the best episode of the series, but only a 9/10, yet people say that it is the greatest episode to ever air of any show. This would be overrated. 9/10 is an excellent score, but it's not necessarily the greatest thing ever.

Also consider The Dark Knight. I loved it, but will admit that when it was released it was overrated. On IMDB it had a rating of 10/10 for quite a while, therefore making it the highest rated movie on the site. Great movie, but didn't deserve a perfect score. This is an example of something that is good and the favourite of a lot of people, but was severely overrated for a time.

I'm not really arguing with you, just trying to explain what my comment meant since you didn't really understand it. I actually agree that it's a great episode, definitely in the top tier.

Anyway, if you still don't get it then fine, I've already given an example that backs up my point and can't do a lot better than that.

P.S. I really should have considered adding some sort of smiley to the Next Mutation comment...

Interestingly enough, your list of favourites doesn't include SAINW, so you might be of the opinion that it's overrated. You acknowledge that it's a good episode, but not the best in the series. Your list suggests that it's good, but not THAT good. Just a thought
