Well, the reserve for the first one was $1000 so I really don't get why now they raised it. Yeah, the first sold for alot more, but Ebay and art collecting really is hit or miss. Sometimes it goes for less, sometimes triple. All depends on who catches it and at the right time.

I like how this asshole bought a bunch of Gil Fox merchandising art for ten bucks a pop that nobody wanted (they'd been on ebay for years) and then inflated the SH*T out of the prices. What a jerkoff.

Am I missing something here? This price seems insane and way out-of-line.

Wow, he has 6 Adventures issues up for 80 bucks a pop. It's weird because he has other things up for "normal" prices. I think I'm missing something too.

His listing on #67 says he's never seen one on ebay. It may be true that he's never seen it on ebay, but mycomicshop just sold one on ebay for about $8 no more than a couple of weeks ago.

I think he either has no idea of the appropriate market value of a few of those items, or he's just loopy.

Then again, there are people who will pay that kind of price, not knowing any better. I've seen TMNTA #72 go for $80 and go for $10 within a couple weeks of each other.

Apparently $9.60 a figure including shipping isn't enough to meet the reserve. It just shows how greedy some sellers may be, but I've never seen what a box of Playmate toys containing figures looked like before. The seller's explanation for his reserve?

Quote:
I'm toying with the idea of letting my collection go (for the right price that is). I'm not expecting this to sell for a couple of reasons, mainly the economy and people being cheapskates in this economy so I'm not expecting much to come from this auction and I'm fine with it because I do not need the money nor do I want to just get rid of them. I love these figures to death and I love having them as a reminder of my youth. But if some one comes along and loves them as much if not more than me and has the money to buy them, then I'm all for it.
Still, its wise that he mentions love as the real reason that these would be sold. If you don't appreciate TMNT that much, you don't deserve it since it doesn't motivate you. Only those who are really appreciative about it can feel willing to purchase such a lot at that sum.

Yeah, pannoni1, he loves them so much he keeps them in the original shipping box away in a closet or storage building. Can't you just feel the love?

Oh...those aren't the original shipping cases...whoops.

archie 72 - $50- $70
idw ashcan - $10

Do even more research and find out that you can acquire those for way less.

winter special - $3.60 (mile high comics)
archie 71 - $4.80 (mile high comics)
archie 72 - $5.85 (mile high comics)
idw ashcan - $7.00 (ebay buy it now)

Now laugh it off.

If you did even more research, you'll notice that 71 and 72 aren't even available on mile high comic's website. They haven't been available for ages on there, especially in near mint shape. I just completed my Archie TMNT collection recently. I managed to get every single Archie TMNT related publication or cross-over, including all printings or covers, in Near Mint shape (with white pages) and every single book is a first printing and also (drumroll please) a Direct Edition which was tougher than you think to achieve. I usually don't settle on my comics whether that be CGC or even my raw collection.
