Highly doubt they'll increase much in value. Not those figures at least.

and its not really nostalgia that will make them more valuable but the rarity of them, as Ive been reading a lot about people who buy them and open them up and other stuff. so eventually, like everything in time, it will get more valuable.
what set did you spend 400 on ?!?!?!

well im sure people in 1990 thought the same thing. and they have already increased by at least 3 times there original retail price.

whats to keep them from getting more valuable? people loose, destroy, open these figures and the numbers go down so the more scarce something is, example, scratch i wouldn't have ever thought that it would be valuable but its going for an average of 400. so same thing might be said for lets say Genghis frog! but i don't know ill just have to wait and see!

i just know that it cant loose value that's for sure, unless by some chance they find a warehouse full of unopened turtle figs.

Yes, but part of it is also inflation. Back in the 90's you could get a TMNT figure for $5-$7. When they released the 25th anniversary figures, they cost $10-$12. Heck, I remember buying Marvel legend figures for less than $10, now they're close to $20. When we see how much the new 2012 TMNT figures cost, then we'll see how much inflation has affected the cost of figures.

You can be as hopeful/jaded as you want, but we'll see about that. It was produced in MASS quantities, I doubt there'll be much more value in it.

Lack of proper capitalization -10 pts
Misuse/lack of punctuation -10 pts
Incorrect spelling -10 pts

I'm sure I missed some, though.

Well, that's a C+, I think. Not too bad.
I can also exploit mistakes and the accidental use of the wrong word(s) in your posts, but that's not exactly addressing the point of what you said is it?

lol when did this become a English class? I was just pointing out that you accused me of being jaded while saying I was hopeful at the same time, and it didn't make since, so i wanted to make sure you were correctly addressing me with the right use of words or not.

Comparing Scratch and Genghis is sort of unfair... because the amount of Genghis figures out there is soooo much higher than Scratch that i'd imagine you'd me waiting a long time

The argument still stands, there are TONS of Genghises out there, there are considerably less Scratches.

i think the point you are missing that WE are making is that there were more Genghis than Scratch to begin with- not just now- but back in the 90's as well... so for him to catch up would take a long long long time... No one is hating on your toy collection dude- we are just saying that you will not be able to retire on nine orange Aprils... and that's a fact Jack!

i know what you all are saying because Ive read it like 20 times now. i was making the point that although, slim, well not slim but over a long time. it will be more valuable than now. that's just the way things work in the collecting world. I really don't feel like making this conversation go any further so please feel free to converse amongst your self but im pretty much out, on this topic.

p.s. i never said anything about you hating on my collection.

Um...I think you're missing the point. The reason Scratch is so expensive is because of rarity. Unless something happens to all the other MOC Genghis Frogs in the near future, there is little chance that a Genghis Frog will ever be worth as much as Scratch.
