The design is fine with me as long as the story is more similar to the 2003 series than the old cartoon. I don't like them being portrait that silly... I think it's kinda sad if they don't take themselves seriously. And I also think kids these days would prefer that rather than a comic show, right?

Anyway, I have a question. I don't know when I would be able to see the new cartoon because it won't air here until it has been translated into Spanish, so is there any way I can get the episodes once they start to air in English? I don't want to wait that long and I do prefer the original version

If by "wrap-around", you mean the plastron is connected to the carapace on the sides, then no, this isn't the first time. In the movies, it's always been connected on the sides. (Even in the 2007 cgi flick.) In the cartoons, it's usually just slightly different colored "skin" on the sides.
