I kept thinking of the gang in Ghostbusters 2 when they descend into the depths of the underground to find the river of slime in this issue. Not in a bad way. Maybe it's the hats.

FINALLY, I got a copy of this today. Loved it. Both the art and story were very true to the turtles I know. Very Mirage like while still having elements of the new universe. Despite the colors I totally felt like I was reading an issue of Tales Of The TMNT, and that's an extremely good thing for my tastes. The dark atmosphere, sketchy/angular turtles, strange monsters, the occult, underground setting, all prime turtle comic characteristics. Liking the direction of it, can't wait to see how things unfold in the next issue.

Agreed 100%, finally just got the issue and hands down my favorite of the new issues thus far. Dark, adult, and uncannily true to how I see and hear the Turtles...Tristan writes them as a true fan, he really knows these characters. Dude, keep this coming!

Cheers for Infestation and TJ!

So Leo IS the one abducted, but it looks like either Raph or Mike will also suffer some major injury. I'm thinking Donnie's safe, especially because he dominated the issue, at least plot wise.

FINALLY got mine last night. What a read!

Tristan was on point, as expected, and really did his research. The art was very stylish, both in design and the perspectives and use of panels and frames. I liked the coloring pretty well, but I thought it was awesome how Fotos colored the "in the dark" scenes. Very cool.

And as much as I liked this, I'll bet that #2 is even better.

(Also, not that it ruined my reading experience or anything, but this would actually read better if I hadn't read Infestation 2 #1. So if you haven't picked that up yet... don't.)

Wait.. this WASN'T drawn by Mignola?? I half expected them to encounter Hellboy in those dark tunnels! The art perfectly suited the macabre plot.

As far as their individual characters and voices, I agree that no one currently writing the turtles does it better than Tristan. Good on ya!

This was the first IDW TMNT issue to sell out before I got to my local shop. High-demand well-deserved.
