I'm just gonna refuse to accept they'll be aliens until we get some more information. If it finally is true that they're changing the origin in such a drastic way, it'll make me lose all interest in the film. I'll eventually get to watch it, at some point in the future, but I will not spend my money on it.

I can't get over the new IDW origin, and even tho I'm trying, it's really stopping me from enjoying the book. Now, making them into aliens is just too much.

I can accept changes to the origin, as we've seen a few different versions of it over the years, but at the end of the day they always are mutated turtles. It is important for me, and I consider it to be an essential part of the franchise.

To me it sounds like the Transformers "script" Has just been rewritten with turtles and ninja tactics, specs and fighting.

Mike- A talking Bumblebee (only have seen the first 2 movies hadnt had a chance for the 3rd yet.)

Hmmmm. Saw this mentioned on some other web sites. I honestly could care one way or another, it was always the brotherhood and interactions of the characters that I liked, not so much the origin story. As long as they got the brotherhood down, then the movie will be going down the correct path for me. But it's way too soon to start jumping to conclusions.

For what it's worth this news has been posted on plenty of comic and movie sites and the reaction there is all negative with people agreeing its a horrible idea.

So it isn't just Turtle fans opposed to this.

That's good to know. Almost every version of the franchise has a lot of big changes to the origin, but they've always remained mutants and I'm glad that people in general aren't taking to the idea that they might be aliens.

At the very beginning of the thread there's a link. Click that link and watch the video. Michael Bay says, "These turtles are from an alien race."

I'm all for crucifing Bay along with the rest of you. I think he is a hack. But until we know what context the alien thing is it doesn't do any good to start yelling and screaming.

I'm not even gonna get into the semantics game. We all know that Michael Bay isn't referring to them being "strange" or "foreigners" or anything like that. It's pretty straightforward that he was referring to aliens from another planet. Whether the Turtles themselves are the aliens or if they're just much more closely tied to aliens is the question, but I'm not gonna sit here and seriously go back and forth on the different definitions of the word "alien."
