The news is really getting around. Today at school I was wearing a Ninja Turtle T-shirt and my jacket and this dude in the lounge, who I've never met, was like "Hey, did you hear what Michael Bay is doing with the Ninja Turtles?" That totally made my day, knowing there're some hardcore fans in my area.

The "Giggle Ray" from Turtles Forever...although come to think of it, there was that "Gag-a-magnifier" ray created by Barney Stockman in Raphael Knocks 'Em Dead.

Crap, logic kills one of my "Turtles Forever raped my childhood!" gripes...

Yep. It's Bay and Bay alone who is making this change. There aren't screen writers and others involved. Just Michael Bay....

Come on guys. You're making it hard for people who have a legitimate gripe about the (potential) rewriting of the origin to speak their piece, because it all looks like "MICHAEL BAY IS MAKING THEM ALIENS!!" and not just, "Wait, the production team for the new Turtle movie might make them aliens?"

How exactly does knowing about a WIDELY publicized topic make one a hardcore fan?
I know gamers are in uproar about the ending to Mass Effect 3 yet I don't even know what system(s) it's played on.

This is turning into a joke; how many threads does it take to make a Michael Bay mention?

Well, the dude started talking about the comics with this other guy. Unfortunately I had to run off, otherwise I would've stuck around and yapped about the fandom.

Right on! I just read Robbie's letter and he said exactly how we're all feeling!

Have you been to the Ninja Turtle group on Facebook lately, Powder? People are pissed off! Michael Bay seriously put his foot in his mouth when he said "alien race"! He was basically saying this to the fans:

I understand if you don't feel the same way, but the mob mentality is gonna be around for a while!

True....but (since I don't want to retype the same crap):

There's no such thing as bad press. All it took was one sentence in a 15 second clip, and there are multiple multi-page threads on the Technodrome, Robbie Rist has come out against it bringing it to the attention of TMZ....it's like a perfect storm.

They've done nothing but let the Internet be the Internet and now almost everybody is talking about the Ninja Turtles. Even those damned "causals" people baulk at all the flippin' time.

There's no majority rules justification to people frantically rage-whining like chickens running around with their heads cut off.
I appreciate you giving me two middle fingers nonetheless. I'd tell you where to stick 'em but momma raised be better than that.

It's the nature of fandoms. People are gonna keep venting their feelings whether you like it or not! Just look at how many people hate George Lucas for how he wrote the Star Wars prequels!

As long as no one invokes Godwin's Law about Bay, we're on mostly safe ground. On the other hand, Megan Fox invoked it about him, so there is a weird-yet-pleasant side effect. But don't do what Fox did, unless you like career self-destruction.

Meanwhile, I'll go wait for Ashton Kutcher or Peter Laird to pop up and tell us we're punked. Because, otherwise, this is starting to be a one heck of an ad campaign.
