The books feel shorter don't they? Upon first read the issue was enjoyable, besides the length of it, didn't have much complaints (still looking to nitpick).

[Raphael's micro remains the undisputed best in the micro series! ]

I wish the books could be 32 pages each of story material, but I know that's not feasible based on IDW's production model.

This entire thread has been derailed. Can a mod clean this dump of a thread up and get things back on topic. The Leo book, nothing else?

I thought that the art in this issue was great. I hope that Ross does some more issues later on. Though, I thought that the writing wasn't the best. Other than that I thought it was a good issue.

A question I have is--

Spoiler:
April is seen at the end of the issue along with Casey and the other turtles... does this issue take place before issue 9? Are we just to assume that she woke up and knows the turtles now? No introductions or anything?

Spoiler:
Continuity is #8, Leo, #9, just like release order. At the end of Leo, April is just seeing hurt Leo, and has an appropriate reaction, she hasn't 'met' them yet. You'll see formal introduction in page 1 of #9 in one week.

Shout out to who ever had the idea to have this fight take place in a construction site. I've always thought that was bad ass scenery for ninja brawls.

Word. I also like the fact that it was raining in the issue. Matched perfectly with Leo's emotions at the time and really set the mood. The original micro had snow, so rain was a nice variant.

That was cool because it was raining like crazy here. Plus I liked how it gave the Peterson cover some relation to the story.

I wonder if it could be a reference to the start of the fight in Ninja Turtles II that took place at a construction site?

Loved it!
The action was great, and I really dig the reincarnation plot.

Um No, it's more than likely a homage to the original Leonardo Micro where the fight took place at a construction site. Ya know, Mirage?...

Yea. Otherwise they would have taken time to honor the traditional pre-fight donut!

As I stated in another thread, Ross Campbell NEEDS to draw more TMNT stuff as soon as possible. This is the best looking TMNT comics in years! Also, just to clarify, that was
Spoiler:
Shredder
he was fighting at the end, right?

Just read the issue. Not my favorite issue by any means, but it was different, and different is always good.

I wasn't a fan of Leo's dialogue either, as has been discussed a lot in this thread. Before reading it, I didn't understand what people could be complaining about, but yeah, it just seems weird.

And the entire what, half of the issue, where he's fighting? Again, I just couldn't understand what people were complaining about, but the whole fight sequence felt 'off'. It's almost like no one was fighting anyone, but just standing there.

It's just my opinion though. I'm by no means a comic genius, or master of everything comic related. There are others here that can dissect the issue FAR better than I.

On another note, is it weird for a comic shop to NOT get the issues of a comic released that day? I mean, I went in today for my Walking Dead #96 and Leo Micro (I only have TWD and TMNT reserved every month), and they didn't even GET the TMNT issue. Said they were supposed to get it next week.

Why have a hold on issues if I can't get them? If it's abnormal, or happens again, I'll just cancel my TMNT issues and get TWD from now on. If it's not something that generally happens, then I may have to go back to eBay or drive further away to another shop.

I'd hate to, but they didn't even realize that it was released today. I had to convince them. And trust me, it's no fun trying to convince a comic shop owner that I'm supposed to have an issue of a comic in my hands, and want to know why it's not.

Here's my review of TMNT Microseries #4: Leonardo at TMNT Entity.

I love Campbell's art and I dug what Lynch was doing with the flashbacks; a great way to show what the reincarnation angle brings to the table in terms of emotional weight. And the fight with "scar-face" was pretty great, as it made him out to be way beyond the Turtles and I think we all know who he's going to turn out to be.

Now, what I DIDN'T care for was how easily Leo punked all those Foot Soldiers. This was their first appearance, after all, and introducing them as cardboard targets to be knocked over with ease only serves to diminish their threat as villains. I'm fine with the Foot turning into fodder once the Turtles improve their skills later down the line, but as jokes right off the bat? Not doing them any favors.

All in all, though, I think this was a good continuation of the story and I'm REALLY looking forward to TMNT #10, now.
