Why not Fugitoid?

I was just thinking the other day about how Fugitoid never got an appearance on the original cartoon. Of all the different robots they've had over the course of the show you think he could've somehow been introduced. I wonder though if the producers weren't allowed to use him because Eastman and Laird wouldn't let them change Honeycutt's origin story.

Considering the Triceratons didn't even appear all the way till Season 7, I guess they just didn't want to use anyone from the "Turtles in Space" arc.

But Fugitoid even got a toy early on, he should have gotten one episode.

Couldn't they keep the background story?

The classic toon had a tendancy of ignoring the comic book origins. Just look at the Mutanimals.

The Mutanimals weren't in the cartoon. I don't get your point.

There is one robot in the OT that could've easily just been named Fugitoid altered slightly his design and boom there you had him. Missed opportunity.

I always thought that the Fugitoid was kind of lame. Maybe the writers did too. Who knows?

Part of me wonders if Peter felt that the Turtles were polluted enough, and didn't want the Fugitoid to suffer a similar fate.

That or they wanted him seperate from the Turtles for futre comic books...

Thought to ask Peter, Jeff?

Not sure if he's talking about the same robot, but the one that comes to mind is that robot that came from the future. Can't remember his exact name at the moment (it's been a while since I seen that episode)

Is it MACC from Attack of Big MACC?

When I first saw the 2003 show, I used to imagine whether or not the Federation or Fugitoid existed in the 1987 show. I always guessed they do exist but they were never seen in the show, but I was just guessing. I imagined the Triceratons met them near the time of Night of the Dark Turtle.

Next time Mr. Laird does an "Ask PL" blog, I'm gonna submit this question.

As long as something isn't in a TMNT universe, it doesn't exist. Except if you start working on fanfiction.

Fugitoid wasn't really from the future like MACC was, and another surprise is that there was a Playmates figure made in 1990. Perhaps it was a script that didn't make the cut that featured Fugitoid. And considering even the turtles' origin story is different from the comics, there's no excuse that can prevent Fugitoid. If they still had the budget during Red Sky to create more episodes, that would have been a cool place to introduce the Fugitoid, or perhaps around the Turtleoid arcs. What could've been...

Yea well, if you hadn't noticed there's a lot of fans here who first got into the TMNT through the original cartoon series.

Okay you clearly don't get my point. We're not talking about the damn 2003-2009 4Kids era here! We're talking about the 1987-1996 Fred Wolf era! Understand?
