Slash...with a twist...

While listening to the episode of the What the Shell? podcast where they discuss the MCM Con in London (at least that's what I think it was called), specifically the panel with Kevin Eastman and more of the Nick crew, they discussed someone asking Kevin about Venus. And it got me to thinking that a female Turtle could work if done properly in any of the new iterations, as long as she wasn't the 5th member of the team or a long lost sister like she was supposed to be in TNM. A seperate, mutated female turtle could be kinda interesting.

Then I got to thinking about Slash, and I thought that maybe, if Nick made HIM a female, I would actually be pretty cool with that. The Turtles don't have a ton of classic female villains, and Slash has had a limited presence in the Turtle-verse. I actually think that changing Slash's sex to female would be a neat change.

What do you guys think? Am I crazy for thinking this? Or does this sound like a decent idea with the rest of you?

Would she still be called Slash, or would she get a new name too, because Slash doesn't scream female to me?

i think slash is a good name n it sounds like an ninja assassin name. it d be a good storyline that the turtles bring him back frm the darkness and teach him to use his power to do good things. n when u google the turtles wiki profile, its just easier: tmnt leo, tmnt raph, tmnt mikey, tmnt don, tmnt slash...

Yeah, the women should be at home in the kitchen, taking care of the babies...
Spoiler:
that's sarcasm

And I think Slash could work as a female name. It's not the most feminine(sp?) name, but I don't think it's overly masculine either.

The reasons why some may associate Slash with masculinity are 1) the word signifies a primal instinct and women are generally not categorized as such, and 2) we've been used to Slash as a male character period. Making him a female would shake things up and if used, could open opportunities for storylines between turtles. I think it'd be neat to try out.

"Slash" is a verb and doesn't need to be relegated to a specific gender.

Never said it was only a verb, Tinkerbell. And it still doesn't need to be associated solely to men.

Your responses are boring, and since they're coming from someone who's favorite Ninja Turtles villain is one of the most cliche and uninspired, that's not surprising.

Krow, my friend, believe me it's so not worth trying to "debate" the forum's "funniest" member.

Hey Krow, HUH UHHH GRUNT GRUNT HUH!

EDIT: Also, sorry Fuggie. A villainous female Turtle would certainly be an interesting change. It would be interesting to see if they are more interested in reforming her because of some misplaced romantic issue.
