Chick-fil-A is against gay marriage
I recently read an article on Xfinity where apparently the Chick-fil-A restaurants are against gay marriage. Apparently, they've always been against gay marriage.
I've eaten there and never thought it was. Only propaganda I ever saw at that restaurant was that sign with a picture of a cow holding a sign saying thanks for eating at Chick-fil-A. I honestly thought businesses would be more tolerant to others in this day and age. I never saw anything wrong with gay marriage really. I mean; so a man and a woman can marry each other for money or a green card but two men or two women who love each other can't marry each other because the bible says it's wrong? That's messed up in my opinion. And heck, in Christianity, you can go to hell just by thinking; I learned in Christian school that every thought you have is sinful, no matter what it is you're thinking. Anyway, I honestly am not going to eat at a restaurant that's going to hate against homosexuals. http://xfinity.comcast.net/articles/...cid=hero_media Last edited by psych23232323; 07-27-2012 at 06:21 AM. |

They sell chicken sandwiches and lemonade. People seriously care what their stances are on social issues?

Churches and anti-gay groups are supporting them. An alderman in Chicago wants to ban Chick-fil-A restaurants, the mayor of Chicago is supporting the alderman, and Jim Henson Co is pulling their toys from that restaurant. |

Also, that Christian school you mentioned sounds very radical. Not EVERY thought is sinful. Even the ones that are, you shouldn't go to hell just for thinking those thoughts as long as you don't wallow in sin. They should be teaching that God is forgiving. So if you're truly remorseful of your sins, you just pray for forgiveness. |

The restaurant that is very openly super christian and is closed on sundays doesn't look favorably on gay people? No way.
Food's delicious. Don't care. Im sure other places are involved with worse things. Its not as if every time I get some waffle fries they execute a homosexual.

Could not care what their stance is. I'm against gay marriage, but if they said they were for it, it wouldn't make me want to not eat there. So they take a stance, who cares? I don't know if it's widely known (I thought it was), but ChikFilA is a CHRISTIAN company. They don't hide that fact, they actually promote that fact.
And even though people knew that, the only thing people are upset with is the fact that the CEO formally announced it. So as long as it's not told to the masses, gay people and their supporters can just keep their heads in the sand, right? It just doesn't make sense. So the f*** what if a company doesn't approve of gay people. It's free speech, get over it. And sadly, protesting is also free speech (but sitting outside CFA's holding dumbass signs is just stupid), so more power to 'em. And I realize I'm in the minority in this day and age, but I'm still weighing in. It's just sad that if you take a stand against gay marriage, you get torn apart by anyone and everyone. |

And yes, whatever Christian school you went to, is a bad one. That's called brainwashing. They want to control every aspect of your life. And yeah, they're closed on Sunday's, and are VERY open about being a Christian company. It can't be that shocking... |

I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion but I do worry if it would ever happen of that restaurant denying a person service or a job because he or she is a homosexual. That's why the Christian school said you had to pray. So that whatever you said would be pure in the eyes of the Lord. They taught God was forgiving but yeah, believe me, they told me that every thought you have is sinful; that's why you had to confess your sins and pray out loud for forgiveness. If they're wrong about that, then I'm honestly grateful if they are. If it makes you feel better, that school doesn't exist anymore; got turned into a charter school. |

This thread makes me wonder why anyone would be against gay marriage, if its consenting adults who have to pay the same taxes you do, how/why does it even affect you?

It's not like they refuse service to gay people. And I used to work at Chick-fil-a in high school. Trust me, they hire gay people. Or at least the one I worked at did. |

I just heard the CEO is against gay marriage. As far as I'm concerned, he has the right to be against it if he chooses as long as he doesn't discriminate against gays and refuses to hire them. If he does that, then he's breaking the law because most jobs aren't allowed to not hire someone based on race, religion, or sexual orientation. I've never eaten at CFA, but I've heard it's good food. I'd probably try and eat there once if there was one in my area.

I wonder if you replaced the word "gay" with "black", how many people would feel differently about the situation.

I dunno. People aren't protesting KFC and those f*ckers manipulate black culture like nobody's business. Popcorn chicken IS good though.

This. Homophobia is just another version of racism.

That's what I meant with "another version of racism". It's the the same level of stupidity in another context.
