I actually love it. I've seen a lot of complaints online about the hip-hop style, but to me, hip-hop has always been synonymous with TMNT. They were originally created at the same time hip-hop was starting to find it's audience in the mid 1980's, and hip-hop was featured very prominently in the first two live-action films. I think it's a great fit.

Also, I'm VERY fond of the throwback to the original theme and the first issue pose at the end of the intro.

Can anyone understand the lyrics? I can catch "secret of the ooze" toward the middle...

Also, if I knew how to capture this as an mp3 I'd finally change my ringtone from Knight Rider!

Nickelodeon will send you the MP3 if you play the Turtles vs Foot game (link in sig).

It's possible to sing rather than rap those lyrics if you sing it in the OT style, except that you will need extra verses, especially for myself who prefers singing over rapping (watch the Coming Out of Their Shells Tour to see why!) I also put the Splinter verse before the Turtles since in tradition with the 1987 theme. I do wish there was a Shredder verse however rather than generic "bad guys" since both the OT and 4kids have them. I would compile karaoke friendly lyrics in the spirit of the original cartoon as follows:

Teenage mutant ninja turtles,
Heroes in a half-shell, turtle power!

I really want to like this song, but it's so hard to understand what they're saying. Before that video with the lyrics came out I thought they were saying "birds of a shell" instead of "emerged from the shadow".

Really late to this party but that is the worst theme of any of the turtles shows.....hands down.

I disagree. I think this theme is one of the best TMNT theme songs since the OT theme song. And the kids on the Nick site seem to like it alot.

Catchy is an understatement.. It's probably the worse one, but I can't get it out of my head for days..

I consider the worst to be the replacement theme for Next Mutation, followed by Fast Forward. The original theme to Next Mtation was the only worthwhile part of the show.
