Not having bought the Kevin Eastman 25th Anniversary TPB, this was the first time I've ever seen the Raphael Micro in color. The sight of Casey Jones in his Playmates Toys color scheme just forced me to make this an impulse buy, even though I have been avoiding these thus far.

I know the future of this series is in serious doubt due to low sales, but I really would like to see the Michelangelo Micro in color for this Christmas. It could be really beautiful with the Christmas lights, snowfall, and cold nighttime setting.

Oh cripes, considering HOW MUCH snow effects Eastman and Laird put in every panel of that thing, coloring it would be BRUTAL.

I have the TMNT 25th version of Raph #1 and thought they coloring was okay (though Casey's demonic, glowing red eyes seemed a taf much). The fact that Casey's in his Playmates colors kind of makes me want to grab this version, even if I haven't snagged a Color Classics issues since #1.

Indeed.

IDW, if you're listening, I WILL BUY a Michelangelo Color Classics if you release it. I figured that's reward enough for whoever has the task of handling that job.

Ugh, I forgot about the red glowing eyes on Casey. I think I may have seen a scan of that at some point. Here's a preview of the IDW version:

Personally, I think the big yellow & red "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" sign behind Casey is a little too meta.

Perhaps a Chet's business would have been more appropriate? What was on the original billboard?

Eastman and Laird's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. That is how the original Bill Board looked.

Ah, I do remember that now! I guess it made sense at the time for E&L to give themselves a little self-promotion since the Raphael Micro wasn't actually part of the TMNT ongoing series in number. Still... it's kinda weird.

I agree that Chet's [Whatever] Store would have been a better idea.

Ah, okay. I just wasn't sure whether it was the logo itself or just the billboard's colour scheme that Winters was commenting on.

Yeah doing it in McDonald's Red and Yellow was probably a bad choice for the 2k12 rerelease. Definitely makes a clever background piece a meta reference. Since those are colours which grab the attention and cause desire.

Damn one class of college marketing!
