In defense, Donnie has had several episodes enhancing his character not involving April.
The problem is, everyone hates The Pulverizer and want to forget the character, therefore those episodes never existed. |

Ugh, what a shame!
That's a fantastic storyline, and one I'd very much like to see more of. Seriously, Don keeps a PET BOY in a TANK in his LAB! It's the most horrifically dark thing of the show, and I wish there'd be more about it.

I like that Don has a crush on April because it gives more depth to his character than just being "the smart one" out of the bunch. And I agree that The Pulverizer eps gave Don more depth about being responsible for someone and caring about their well-being. He's not all about April, but with Tim being frozen, there's no one else he can really interact with other than her, Casey, and his brothers and Splinter.

Since Mutagen Man is supposed to be a reoccurring villain, Donnie may still be forced to end Timmy's life.

Freeze keeping his wife on ice, instead of just letting her die? Also dark. Dark and selfish.

i didnt like tim at all while he was human. i know he was supposed to be annoying and weak, but i couldnt stand him. but now that hes mutated i love the impact it has on donnie. the face he made when he had to freeze timothy showed how guilty and responsible donnie felt

Apritello is here to stay, ever since the beginning. And it's going on strong.

What do you mean ended? Tim is still in Don's lab, now he's just frozen.

Right? Some people are too sensitive and emotional. "The horror! So dark for a kid show!"
So Tim is a mutant, and they put him in a container to protect themselves and himself. And Donnie is not giving up, still working on a cure. Big deal. No need to make a mountain out of a mole hill. |

Reading comprehension is at a premium around here, isn't it?
I like that it's dark. I think it's one of the more interesting plots the show has going for it. I'd like to see more of that. But hey, I guess that was really unclear because of all my "sensitive emotions." Nice attempted derail there, slappy. I will say this, I am sensitive to this whole Apritello business, mostly because it's Nice Guy creeper crap. If I had any faith in the writing I'd be waiting anxiously for Don's comeuppance, but...alas. April O'Guffin, we hardly knew ye.

So you like dark, that's good.
But I hardly find that putting Tim in a container considered as "dark". It's kinda normal/make sense, nothing sinister about it. Now let's say for example, Saki took Yoshi's daughter and raise her in deception all her life - now that is twisted and considered "dark" imo. |

I'm sure Timothy's parents, where ever they are, would totally agree with you.

They're not part of the story Nick is telling so I don't particularly care for them.

Cause that's pretty much the same thing. I swear, the more this kind o thing annoys me, the more I can't help but feel not as easily impressed with this show and how it handles it's own plot... |

Some characters are best not shown on it's entirety, they work as background for the story. Kinda like the "ugly naked guy" from FRIENDS. He existed but didn't need to be explored more.
Maintain focus on characters that do matter. |

Never said the side characters had to take up the main character's spotlight. Just an acknowledgement that they exist rather than expecting me that they exist.

Of course. Though I don't mind if they don't show them at all since it's not that significant.
