What if Casey Jones is black in the sequel?

I think everyone reads a different race into her face, because her face had no consistency. She looks like 5 different women in 5 different panels.

Also Mirage April, wasn't black in the book, as stated by the artist's themselves.
People got perms in the 80's, it was just something women did, even men.





But I can see how you could draw a similarity between those images.

What is interesting, if April was actually meant to be "Asian", and Stockman was black, Shredder and minions were Japanese...then the only "whites" in the first two books were the gang members, who at best were background, and might arguabley not even be white.

So TMNT is actually quite diverse, at least prior to the OT.

Except everyone else expects April to be a readhead or some kind of news reporter. Fans will seriously flip their **** if a black April is announced.

Noone reads the comics. Especially the Mirage ones. Noone besides us anyway and we are a huge minority.

April is too much of a mainstream character. She's white with usually orange/red or brown hair. It would be like making Lois lane black.

Casey Jones being black can be something they can get away with.

True, but Casey is pretty mainstream too. He's in almost every form of TMNT media. Plus fans flipped out over the idea of a white Shredder. There were people upset over the race changes in The Last Airbender, Mandarin in Iron Man 3, Khan in Star Trek Into Darkness, and Johnny Storm in Fantastic Four. There's no doubt there would be people upset over a black Casey Jones.

White Shredder and white Aang/Katara/Sokka are completely different things. Stripping a POC of that status is awful. Making a white character a different race isn't. I posted why earlier, did you not read it?

Totally with you on this. Most mainstream franchise characters are from 50+ years ago when minority representation was generally much worse than it is now, and newer characters have a much harder time getting mainstream attention than the old standards. It's insane to even consider taking some of them "away".

How the hell is a white Shredder different from a white Aang/Katara/Sokka? They are both white versions of Asian characters. So now a white character is awful but a non-white character isn't? You just admitted you're a racist.
