Cubed, every series has to look at each season as though it's a last season.
So unless there is a pick up for a new season.

The series has said that the Turtles would be teenagers so long as the story progresses. Even though we haven't revisited the mutation day concept you can only keep them perpetually 15 years old for so long, there is a sense of time passing for the turtles. All of them would be roughly 18 by now and going-on 19 and by the end of season five, they will be pushing 20 at the very least.

Well it obviously takes a year to write and make a episode so if we don't hear anything by Christmas I doubt there will be a season 6.

Sad that season 5 is the end. Shredder becoming super shredder is probably meaning this is the last of the foot clan we see.

Season 6 could start in 2017. Especially since 5 is only 20 episodes.

Its also possible they could shorten it to 13 episode seasons. That's something the 2k3 series did towards the end of its run with Season 5 and Season 7.

Then New York Comic Con could be the best opportunity to announce a possible new season (in case there will be a panel this year).

Reading the follow up responses from Cipes definitely makes it seem like S6 is a long shot at this point. I thought S6 would be the last one but that doesn't look to be the case.

Cripes was making a reference to Teen Titans where he played Beast Boy and how that ended at 5 seasons. Which is odd, because he's still playing Beast Boy on Teen Titans GO anyway.

If this is it, I'm happy. We got five seasons and (probably) a planned conclusion. A proper ending is more than ANY other TMNT show got. It's best to see it end now than struggle for season 6 by ending 5 on a cliffhanger or the show getting stale.

It's been a good run, and I'm looking forward to the rest of it. The show's had it's ups and downs, but for the most part it's been a solid entry into the TMNT multiverse.

Season 6 can be announed after season 5 begins there is no reason to annonuce it right now. Since Season 5 will start this fall it will end in 1 year from now. They have more than enough time to announce season 6. Dont worry. Both previus shows had more than 6 seasons. Why wouldnt it have at least 6 too?

Good point, actually. I was also thinking, because Nickelodeon mostly cares about merchandise and the money they can rake in, why wouldn't they milk this show as much as they can? If anything, Turtles bring in a majority of their money show wise. In that not many other shows on their network can really...sell anything.

I don't know. I'd be fine with just 5 seasons- better to end it than to force it to go and run out of ideas. Though, with this franchise, there are literally tons of ideas to get so...?? We'll have to see

Because if this show ends, all the merch associated with the Nick line will end and that's where most of their revenue comes from. Not just the toys, but the stuff like bed sheets, backpacks, sneakers, folders, etc. Everything marketed to little kids.

The only thing Viacom would still have going is the IDW comic, and I doubt they make too much a profit off of it since they share there sales with IDW. Also the Nick animated comic from IDW is likely also getting canceled soon too.

So Viacom would be ending their main source of revenue.
