This was probably stated somewhere earlier in the thread and I only read the last few pages, but I loved the fact Leo actually called out the fact he's sick of only fighting mutants and aliens in this episode. I almost feel like someone at Nick knew some of us would also be feeling that way!

I am enjoying this show far more then I expected to. I always figured I would like it, but I find myself re-watching it and enjoying it as much as I did the early 2003 episodes. I am hoping this series develops as well as that one did and keeps expanding on the characters.

I am really enjoying their take on Leo so far, young and very unsure of the world and his role in it. I feel like this week for the first time we really witnessed him realizing the responsibility his role as leader is putting on his shoulder with the whole "fair fight" part.

I find myself excited for the weekend now and seeing what's going to happen next!

Yeah i've got the same feeling. Think it's great that they put it in the serie, it's like my thoughts were expressed by Leo

Kinda made me roll my eyes just a little... since now the turtles can't go all out. I seriously doubt we're gonna see Leo slice Brad or Xever across the chest.... neither will Xever ever get to use his knife on anybody without having them block or dodge it.

I like seeing Splinter strongarm Leo! Its a nice change of pace from Mke getting hit by Raph or someone else.
Bradford will be dogpound and his partner will be fishface

Agree. Also opens the door to some character development as the show progresses. I'd like to see Mikey maybe do a solo mission or two in the future, something he has to figure out on his own without his brothers' help.

Calling his character stupid is a little harsh, imo. Naive is a better word.

Honestly that wasn't at least what I got out of it. Splinter wasn't in my opinion calling Leo a chump for wanting a fair fight or saying fighting fair is stupid, he is looking at his young son whose majority of combat experience comes from watching a fictional hero on TV and in so Leo thinks much like the fiction he enjoys everyone is going to fight fair and him and his brother's are always going to have a certainty to win (much like his Captain hero).

I think Splinter is trying to impart a real life lesson on his son that life isn't fair and unfortunately quiet often the villain is going to use whatever means necessary to win. Leo in turn being the leader and in charge of his brothers, must be willing to see this and reform his plans for when they are not met with a fair fight.

In my mind it was probably one of the most true and sad lessons about reality a child could learn from this show.

Okay, here's my brief review of this episode...

This was quite an episode, in terms of Choreography and introducing Shredder and the Foot. The opening scene of the masked Bradford meeting with Shredder, with the Foot sparring was incredible... the use of light and dark in the style of the show just worked so well here. Sure, the Foot he was sparring with weren't the best in the clan, but the whole presentation was great. Bradford's a real bastard, especially when he stomps his OWN guy at the end of the opening scene...his episode really deserves kudos for the quality of the fight scenes. There's no holding back with Any of the characters - no slapstick, no joke movements, nothing... the white eyes on the turtles when they emerge from the water makes them look so Threatening.

I am So intrigued by the photo of Yoshi and Saki! It looks like Saki is in some sort of military clothing - camo hat, tank top, even both of them are wearing dogtags. When was this??? I want to know MORE!

The character Xever... seems like a stereotypical gang member that's got a little too much experience in Jail, especially with his comments about making his own weapons in prison. I do like the idea of him being a possible Purple Dragon leader... it would work that you've got an elite force using some expendable 'useful idiots'. I just wish some of the evil humans would stay as evil humans...

I love the brotherly displays of one-up-manship and little displays of affection, whether if it's Raph crashing into the other three on the rooftop, or just the small headrubs Mike gets from Leo and Raph during the show.

Splinter... was kinda freaky this episode. I was surprised at him dropping Leo to the floor, but I understand the point of his lesson - they're fighting to survive people and creatures that are Focused on killing them. Splinter has a very valid reason behind his strictness - his first family died/disappeared in Japan. He's going to second-guess and overanalyze everything he does to make sure the same thing does not happen again. But the way he growled at the boys when he saw them practicing the Death Dragon.... he's not the Splinter from the 2K3 show.

I didn't care for Mike's whole man crush on Bradford, but I thought it was a nice lil bit of character development for Mike...

I can't wait to see what happens Saturday!

you didn't get it then...what that means is:you are to seek victory, not fairness...for the world is not always an ideal and thus fair place and you ought to make sure to survive or protect your brothers for that matter before you realize the reality and have to mounr your family...

its in between his words that you interpret some words to it that corrupts the real message amigoes

yes, how wonderful to have such a meaningful message about life part of this great show...I think this is what seperates the good from the GREAT..when they actually incorporate a grain of truth..of real feeling in a form of entertainment..excellent, nick tmnt team!

Mike's gushing over Bradford seemed a bit over the top. However... he learned a bit about how he interacts with humans, that he has to be more careful. I don't think he's gonna be running up to every single human he meets to be friends with them after this encounter...

Rewatching the episode, I noticed something: Bradford was trying to get information out of Mikey when talked turned to him teaching the TMNT his secret kata. Given that he isn't being portrayed as an idiot, it makes sense to conclude that in exchange for the technique, he actually got some of that information. What information do y'all believe he got, and do you think it'll be a plot point?

Also, I've concluded that if the writers are indeed attempting to portray Michelangelo as someone who is merely naive instead of stupid, they've overshot the mark by quite a bit. Naivete has nothing to do with an inability to spell common words, or not understand simple concepts.

This was obviously the best episode of the series. I liked a lot of things.

*The Mikey is head over heals about Chris Bradford. He reminds me of a kid at Comic Con or another Con or something.

*More Foot Clan action.

*Shredder.

*It was actually really funny.

*The Parody of Chris Bradford. Although yes there is a martial artist who shares the same name, he doesn't look like anything like the TMNT character. He actually could be based on a couple of different famous martial artists.

Also did anyone notice it was kind of like Karate Kid 3(The Scene where Ralph Maccio realized his new sensei works for John Kreese) when Mikey figures out Chris Bradford is a bad guy.

Unfortunately, it looks like Viacom wants you to buy a season pass from iTunes or amazon to keep up with the series.
