I think Bloodsucker is being funny if you know what I mean. Let's not indulge him or her.

On another note about the various designs and the ones we ended up with if they insist on clothed turtles for the sequel I'd prefer they all wear pants.

I know this may sound incredibly superficial but every time I saw their various loin cloths swinging I couldn't help thinking they were wearing skirts. Donatello in particular looked silly using boards as crotch and butt coverings.

I'd also appreciate actual belts on the turtles something that the turtles need, not just to carry their individual weapons but things like shuriken and climbing claws which I'd like to see them use. Also Mike and Raph have no need for straps like Leo and Don do so it seems superfluous.

Any way that's my 2 cents.

I've wondered about that for a long time now.

Mostly I just decided it's because the shells are so big and add so much weight, the straps are for support. Like a shell bra.

Thanks to you I'm happy to be a funny girl.

The turtles could all wear cool pants with the buttons on the side. then the pants can fit over the shell with the elastic, and they could put them on and off easy. If they get pants they also need shirts too, but maybe they need less shirts so that we can see the big muscles but i dopnt know if it would be good either way what do you think

Concept art for the first film that was rejected makes you not want to see the second? Eh? Look at your sig/avatar, you couldn't be more of a PDTMNT groupie. What are you talking about?

And this is the reason why they shouldn't be allowed to make movies. Even the next two PD movies, look like sh*t. Probably going to get another 20% on RT.

Now I understand why people hated on MB and Johnathan Liebesman before the movie came out, they always make reckless decisions whenever making a reboot or just a film in general. Gahh, these people piss me off to the max.
Just so much potential wasted.

I wouldn't say it was their smaller muscle size, but how visually stereotyped the Turtles' designs are still, that doesn't make me think any higher or lower of this concept art. Where they just gotta make Donatello scrawny and tall, Leonardo having his impractical "traditional armor", etc. ...the visual cliche aspects to their personalities.

Donatello's scrawny and tall in the Nick show. And how is it visually cliche if it reflects their personalities? They're cooped up in the sewer the majority of the time, why wouldn't they want to stand out individually?

Fair enough. Now you have an idea of how the rest of us felt from day one, knowing how much different (& in our opinion, better) the turtles could be.

Well this was a position I had about the actual 2014 Turtle designs that I stated earlier, and explains the viewpoint of my previous post... if you are interested...

Of course Raph is going to be the shortest (excluding Mikey) and have the most muscle, so it implies there's some underlying subconscious height envy/insecurity (about wanting to be seen as a leader). Donatello is tall, scrawny, skinny, egg-headish, and a gap in his teeth to highlight the "dorkiness" or nerd aspect of his character. Mikey has freckles, light blue eyes, and be the most petite to make him look the most innocent. Leo is stereotypically average in height and build, to suit the "well-rounded" aspect of his character.

I preferred the same body types in the earlier cartoons (OT and 2K3), the movies, and comics because at least it forced the audience/reader (who were unfamiliar with TMNT) to learn about the characters rather than presumptuously assuming their individual personalities by visual assessment.

This 2014 movie takes those Nick TMNT body forms to an absurd caricature degree and goes beyond "exaggerating", not only in body form, but in apparel as well. (I've come up with the theory that you can tell how much a reinterpretation is depending on stereotypes based on how much contrast there is between Donatello's vs. Raphael's appearances.) Really? We need THAT much visual reinforcement to know about Leo's traditional ways, or Donatello's consuming interest in technology, etc. that it makes their gear highly impractical in fighting? We can't just let the dialogue, and plot reveal and expand on each of the Turtles' personalities? ...And here society prides itself on being above visual stereotyping.

Ahhhh, I understand where you're coming from now. I don't feel the same way ( I feel that it adds to their character), but I can see how that could be frustrating to you.
