I don't get why we would never hear them. I mean Michael Sinterniklaas has done voice work alongside members of the Nick cast.

He's done the voice since then just not in any official capacity, so he's had practice.

You guys think Cam Clarke can still do Rocksteady's voice? I hope Barry can still do Bebop.

Cam Clarke still does many voices perfectly. He also voices Liquid Snake from MGS still well after all these years.

Barry Gordon's Bebop might sound a bit different, simply because his Donatello sounded a bit different.

1º) First of all, this special should have lasted an hour long, just like "Turtles Forever".

2º) Speaking of "Turtles Forever", I would say that special is non-canon in this reality. There are several things unfitting here.
+ First and foremost, 80's Donnie didn't recognize the Mirage Turtles, even when he should remember them from "Turtles Forever".
+ 80's Krang talked about destroying the Prime Turtles with the Dimensionaizer, even when in "Turtles Forever", that action not only threated with destroying all the Turtles, but everything in the Multiverse too; including the villains.
+ The 80's Technodrome is back to his classic look, even when the Utrom Shredder upgraded it with Utrom technology and turned it into a real Doomsday's weapon.
+ The fact that this 80's Krang seems related to 2012's Krangs should be enough to prove this can't be the real 80's dimension. Besides, in its last seasons, the 80's turtles turned darker and more serious, like the 2003's and 2012's counterparts.

As far as I see, in "Turtles Forever", what we saw there weren't the real 80's reality or the Mirage's reality, but simply "twin dimensions" of the real ones. That could be applied to the 80's reality and the Mirage's reality from this special.
This is one of the most plausible theories I've ever heard. It would explain a lot, plus it would match some of the more interesting (and very strange) theories I've stuff about 'real-life' dimensions.

Bravo man, bravo!

Why would the turtles change designs when they go to the prime-verse? The Nick turtles don't change design in the OT-verse, they are just 2D versions of their 3D designs like we have seen in marketing and the Nick comics and the OT just change to 3D but its the same designs. The prime-verse is already in 2D so there is no need to change them.

I'd put forth a theory way back when that the Turtles Prime universe in TF was the Mirage Universe until the other two teams showed up and Shredder was beaten so handily... and it split off a divergent universe from there.

A while ago (like two years tops) Rob Paulsen did a special of his Talkin' Toons Live podcast that reunited the four original TMNT actors and Peter Reneday. on that show Barry Gordon kinda lamented that he doesn't have a 'Donatello voice'; that's just how he talks. How if someone came up to him and asked him to 'do Donatello' he'd sheepishly reply "I already am". Can't help but remember this now that some people are saying how he can't 'do it like he used to'.
(I personally thought he sounded spot on, but we only got three or four seasons out of ten in the UK, so maybe it altered slightly during that time and that's what folks are comparing him to?)
On that same podcast those situations lead him to joke that, unlike his friends on stage, he wasn't really a voice actor. To which Rob asked him to give us a Bebop, which he did flawlessly, to prove that he deserved to be called a voice actor as much as any of them.

I thought they all sounded amazingly the same as in OT considering their age.

wow what a piece of crap

The original turtles made me tune in and the 2k12 turtles immediately remindes me why i hate them & their show.

Could barely sit throught TDT. Had to keep telling myself "you can get through this" while watching. How 2k12 can even take jabs at OT is beyond me. Being how mindnumbingly stupid and low brow it is.

The 2D animation sucked, Krang looked like Honey boo boo's mother. And whats with his belt being so damn big?

It was/is pretty bad

I don't think he ever stopped voicing Krang. Just because the character is no longer on television doesn't mean the actor has to lock up the act. He's done the voice for interviews, shows, heck I even got him to do a bit for one of my fan fictions back in 2010.

Thanks, pal. Glad to see someone read my post. I would really like these continuity problems would be avoided when the writers and producers work.

You know? Another theory that I had was that the events of "Turtles Forever" caused the birth of the current TMNT, because the current series seems a mix of all three: the "darkness" of the Mirage Turtles, the "light" of the 80's series, and the "modern balance" of the 2003's series. That event could have caused the whole multiverse to be "re-estructured" somehow, to avoid the repeating of something like what the Utrom Shredder tried to do.

You could also say the Fred Wolf dimension is just incredibly unstable, what with the constant change in animation style and even the occasional alternate voices for certain characters that always go unnoticed.

I went back to watch Turtles Forever yesterday trying to think about comparisons, and while the voice acting quality of the 4Kids folks ranges from "close" to "ugh," one thing I now notice is the fact that the Fred Wolf Turtles often refer to each other by the shortened names, which now really bugs me as tonally wrong. I credit the Nick toon voice direction for not only getting the original VAs back together but for remembering the little authenticity details like having their refer to one another by full names.

Probably also not true. KMR probably auditioned or otherwise was legitimately cast on his own merits. Besides if it were, it would actually be the opposite... We would have James as 2K12 Shredder (which sadly would necessitate a recast later down the line.
1.Oh really? Aa a fan of 1987 TMNT, i disliked the 1987 TMNT's personality in Turtles forever, i agreed with Phelous on this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4soeXHbSfGs (ok, i didn't mind it, but they sounded so silly)
2.Really? Then why we had Raph as Donnie and Mikey from Goonies as Raph?
3.If a TMNT universe deserve a mockery, it's the anime TMNT, really what the fudge the japanese done to my childhood series? Well can't blame them, the americans bassicly ruined Super Sentai with Power Ranger

Oh, absolutely. And not just with the Super Sayan fusion turtles...but waifu-looking fairies from the planet Neutrino? That at least would fit if they looked like they belonged in the universe, but those designs just looked like they came out a twelve-year-old's fanfiction.

Do we just not talk about the death rattle of the original Turtlemania that started with Coming Out of Our Shells?

The Phelous review? I'm so sick of people bringing that one up as a defense, as if the guy behind it has any credibility.

It's like "Hey look, this uncharasmatic and unfunny internet comedian lack the ability relax and tolerate something making fun of an old cartoon that lacked quality control, I agree with him!". Honestly, don't bring this guy up in your defense, it only serves to make a fool of yourself. He fails both as a comedian and as a critic, an opinion I had of him long before the TF review.

I like turtles forever and am not a huge 87 turtles fan and I have to admit the OT turtles were very inaccurate. They were overly goofy and felt like 4 Michelangelos most of the time like Raph remarks, the nick show is a lot more accurate when representing the OT turtles as they weren't as moronic and exaggerated as the OT turtles.

Apparently, Phelous will be reviewing Trans-Dimensional Turtles soon. I really enjoyed his Turtles Forever review despite not being as hard on it as he was.

Lets see how this new review will turn out to be.

It would also be pretty sweet to hear some others like the Nostalgia critic and AVGN also giving their thoughts on this crossover.

Oh, ok then

Anyone know why the 4kids cast didn't returned to voice the mirage Turtles?

James would be pissed if he knew the TRUE reason why the original NES TMNT is so different (spoiler April is Splinter's dauther there!)
