I'm going to assume Renet zapped them to a different timeline.

Oh yeah, I was wondering why they didn't use a teleporter, spaceship or communicator to move away from earth.

I would love it if the other set of Turtles had some sort of adventure too. That would be cool.

Interesting that Brandon says they could still be alive. If that so, then it seems weird they wouldn't be in the finale.

Well, it's been a good run.

Has it been a great incarnation...no

Has there been some things that could be used in future incarnations, yes.

Am I glad I stuck with this series to very end...double yes.

Did they even have time to react? The mutagen bomb just rose from out of nowhere and exploded!

From the looks of it, the bomb could have been launched from Kraang's underwater facility at the bottom of the East River - that the turtles didn't quite destroy back then (they only evaded the sea creature and fled). The bomb even had a Kraang logo (the triple hexagon) on it! Could it have been a failed salvation effort by the EPF, triggering a deadly weapon instead?

Going by both flashbacks, i think it rose up into the sky then descended either exploding in the air or smashing into a few buildings on the way down, the center point being the building leo was on or next 2

Either that or leftover rogue villain triggering it. Most of the villains are dead, imprisoned, or reformed.

The Kraang were all reformed rather easily. Maybe there were a few that were instructed to set off this mutagen bomb as a final resort.

Stockman was left unaccounted for at the end of Owari. He was just left unconscious in the Shredder's bedroom while the building burned.

Scumbug and Antrax we never see again. They were just abandoned by Stockman. I doubt they were killed off though, after all despite who the "Business Jerk" may have been before he became scum bug he was still an innocent human before he was mutated. It's likely the two of them were imprisoned somewhere until Donnie retromutated them off-screen at some point. But for all intents and purposes were vertually forgotten.

It may have just been a fail-safe bomb activated at a certain point when the Kraang knew they were defeated as a last ditch effort.

Also, are we to believe this happened all over the Earth, and not just New York? From the narration at the start of the ep Raph acted like he was speaking for the entire planet. There might have been thousands of bombs.

It's kind of ironic, it seems like the Kraang won after all even if they were all gone.

At the end of the monster arc Renet also said to Michelanglo something like, "Ask me again in the future."

I didn't think much of it at the time. But now I wonder if it was foreshadowing?

I think that's wishful thinking and that these are the turtles we've been following from the beginning.

Probably, but it's a little easier to accept that the main timeline has our boys (and friends) alive, healthy, and not mutated again.

Then again, there is that pesky continuity after the Usagi arc with Leo only having one sword...lol Oh, well.

Or it could be just an alternate reality with a Leo who carries only one sword for whatever reason.
Or he could have lost one of his swords in a battle on Earth preceding the mutagen bomb.
There are just things about this arc that simply don't fit the main timeline. An alternate timeline/reality just makes more sense to me

I don't think its that complicated. They gave all the relevant information needed: at one point, after the adventures we've seen, The Kraang come back with a mutagen bomb. The turtles tried to stop them and they failed and the bomb went off. There's nothing that contradicts anything in the main timeline. All this happened a little later in their lives, past the last adventure we know of (the crossover episode) and at a point where Donnie built a second Metalhead and the Kraang managed to regroup.

Like Batman Beyond and how it related to JL and all the other DCAU adventures. You can put as many adventures as you want between them and that show but we know it all leads to that point (Batman Beyond).

There was no mention of the Kraang in that flashback though, all they kept saying was, "The Mutagen bomb went off."

If the Turtles said something like, "The Kraang returned" or "The Kraang won" or "We were busy fighting the Kraang when this happened...etc"

But they didn't. There's no indication the Kraang were there.
