I bought (archie series) issues 1-11 and 20-47 and 2 specials, for about 40$ on ebay. I've just been enjoying the original series dvd so much i need some old turtles fix. If i really like it i hope i can get the other issues somewhat cheap as well.

Yes... as owner of a complete set of TMNT Adventures... go... read as much as possible. For some of the eariler issues, digests were printed, it might be easier to find those than the actual comics, so try hunting for them that way.

And yes... I do like to brag about my complete set.

Mycomicshop wound up only having 2 of the 5 issues I originally wanted to order. Boo-urns to that - I canceled it, and now I'm going rethink and reorder.
I'm wondering how easy/difficult it's going to be to find The Forever War once it's finally out?

There is not a good shift from issue 4 to 5, it totally changes the setting, so it leaves a lot of questions,.

Well, you're entitled to that opinion, but I happen to think it's better than ever. There's more romance and drama in it, and less blind action and comedy in it. That's what I've alway's wanted to see since I started reading sonic comics all the way back to issue #0 of the original mini-series (it's been my favourite comic, and a monthly ritual, ever since)

Though I admit issue 100 and the few issues before and after that were a little flat.

How did the Sonic comics change from being based on the older Sonic series, to being based on the newer series with Rogue, Cream, and the others? I heard they killed Dr. Robotnic and somehow brought him back as Dr. Eggman. How the hell did this happen?

Actually both new and old characters appear in this series (as well as comic-exclusive characters), but there is a seperate Sonic X mini-series coming out.

And Robotnik to Eggman was handled rather ingeniously. The original Robotnik died in issue#50 during the epic "Endgame" storyline (this was when there weren't any Sonic games coming out so the comic could do what it wanted), and a few years later when "Sonic Adventure" was going to come out they combined a story they were already making about Robotnik's ressurection with Sega's request to make him more like the dreamcast version of "Eggman".

Basically, a roboticized version of Robotnik/Eggman from an alternate universe (whom the heroes battled way back in the early issues), came back to this Sonic's universe, to assume the Old Robotnik's place (it turned out he killed HIS universe's Sonic at the same time Old Robotnik met his end). Anyway, his robotic body was destroyed but not before he downloaded his mind into a new robot body. This new body looks like the dreamcast/Sonic X version of "Eggman", but his official name in the comics is "Robo-Robotnik" or "Robotnik Mach 2", his Japanese name "Eggman" being used as an insulting nick-name by Sonic.

This sounds weird but was handled over the course of a few storylines, culminating in issue #75.

Side-note: He was recently turned back human by a mysterious alien!

I doubt it will be hard to get at all. They'll make the same copies they do for the stuff they release now. Im ordering it online though because I think it's going to be a Special release, maybe an annual, which hopefully contains both parts! That would make it a big issue that would cost somewhere around 5 bucks unless it's in color in which case maybe 5-10

Interesting. But how did they get away with killing old Robotnic in the Endgame series? Sonic's series was still way more kiddy-ish and silly than the TMNT comics series. How did they kill him?

First off, it was alot more serious by Issue #50, Endgame was kinda the end of "silly" Sonic stories. (Though, they live on in a comic-strip called "Off-Panel" at the end of every issue). Sonic's Archie-comic path was the same as TMNT's in that it started out humourous and got more serious.

Anyway, Robotnik was actually killed by Snively, who betrayed him at the end of Endgame by reprograming Robo's own doomsday device to only destroy Robotnik himself. The device was originally intended to vaporize the entire universe (Robo was a psycho by this point). At the time Robotnik was to busy fighting to the death with Sonic (who was in total rage mode because he believed Sally was dead) to notice Snively's tinkering and when the big time came only Robotnik was destroyed.

BTW It turned out Sally wasn't really dead.

If you think that's something, Knuckles died and came back in a recent storyline and now the other Echidna's worshipp him, which annoys him to no end.

That is the whole reason i don't like the Archie Sonic, hopefully with the new Sonic X comic they're starting they can add that archie flavor but without being so complicated, i mean not much in archie sonic doesn't have a plothole.

Well, the latest issue has some continuity problems, but nothing that spoils the show. As far as I'm concerned, at least.

Well much of the 25 years later and many of the earlier stories cause too many errors in continuity.

Well, they said "25 years later" (which I LOVED BTW), represented a possible future rather than a definate one. So, it really doesn't HAVE to conform to current continuity.
