Well the Mirgae TMNT is supposed to be Black & white... I have the color reprints book 1 and the second volume, And the dark atmosphere doesn't work as good in color.

If it just the color you want, then why don't you read acrhie?

I personally like black and white comics. Not just in TMNT, but I think all comics look better in black and white. And since when iare black and white comics considered an 80's thing? I'm sure the current number of black and white comics (not even counting manga) far pass the number of color comics.

Well the TMNT is the obly Black & White comic I read, But it is certain that the B&W style is part of what makes the Mirgae TMNT what it is.

*trots by, thows in her two cents*

I think it is a good thing Dreamwave is taking on a TMNT comic. To me, it just seems like this will be the Archie counterpart... who knows, maybe it might pick up where Archie left off. A big if, but it's worth the wonderment.

I also don't think Dreamwave kiddifies everything it does. The one thing I have seen them do that was for kids, was the TF Armada series. The previews they have for the other comics don't sound like little kiddie's would be reading them. The Blade comic sounds very PG-13, and the other two TF comics (G1 and The War Within) are written for older fans. You have to be a young adult who was a kid during the 80's to even catch the little inside jokes they threw in those issues. Typical as far as TF plots go. And yes, I used to collect the old US TF comics as well as watch the cartoon. The stories from those seem no different from the stories seen in DW's G1 and TWW series. I also love the art and color ina comic if it's well done, and DW does it well... makes it hard to appreciate the old TF comics (which looked like the TMNT archies) with the flat two-tone screenprints void of shading and depth.

My point is... there's nothing wrong with DW doing a TMNT comic. If you don't like it, then don't get anymore of them. But I think it will be cool to see DW do a nicely colored TMNT comic. And to be quite honest, the stoty in Lairds new comic isn't exciting me as much as the older Mirage issues. But I still collect them, no complaints made.

Yeeehaw...

I believe it is kiddified because of it's based on the new show. If they order a comic for kids from them, that's what they are going to do. But it might still be intresting.
