If you email Dan he says that Mirage considers TMNT #1 to be the first appearance of the turtles. He said they've tried contacting the price guides like overstreet/wizard but they haven't changed it.

The gobbledygook stuff is just xerox paper stapled at the center. It's hardly even a comic book. And I don't count an ad as a first appearance, because then most comic book first appearances would be in the solicitation magazine "Previews".

So in short TMNT #1 is the official first appearance of the turtles (according to Mirage).

Sorry to keep confusing everyone....

im not looking for the turtles themselves, Im looking for the other characters in the TMNT universe.....Like Beebop, leatherhead and the other characters.....

go back up thread and check out my first post. that's a darn good web site, (though it doesn't cover vol 4)

and on bebob and rocksteady and Krang...those aren't mirage characters so you won't find 'em in the mirage comics....

I too recently saw some on ebay but didn't have the extra money just lying around. They went for $700 for the pair. Not a bad price, just not affordable for me.

Leather head and Nobody both showed up in the first volume of Tales of the TMNT. Not sure about the rest.

Yup, I saw those, too. And I had to decide it was too much for me. I just paid $600+ two weeks ago to fix my car.
