True. No animated film has won Best Picture, but Beauty and the Beast has come the closest with an actual nomination. No win, though... sadly.

I wish the Academy wasn't so closed minded. If a movie is excellent, it should be nominated for Best Picture, animated or not.

I think the fact that there's now a special category for Best Animated Film has made it even LESS likely that a full Best Picture win would happen. It kinda ticks me off... though I suppose it does mean that animated films do get recognized every year. *sigh*
