Yet another Jester running commentary.

Spoiler:
Am I the only one surprised Baxter is working for Hun, considering all the pain Hun inflicted on him?

Donnie angst seems to be a bit much.

The Mini Mutants black costumes make a showing to. Though it seems totally out of place, actually.

And what of Stockman Shredder's makeshift armor.

Hooray, continuity! (City at War, Hun/Stockman/Shredder Traitor bit.)

Auto-eject and Stockman team up...nice.

But where's Bishop?

"You don't really have a back!" Mikey made a legitimate funny.

Baxter contacting Donnie in cyberspace...cool.

"I already lost my father, I'm not loosing my brothers too."

Buddy Baxter, weird, but good to see him turning a new leaf.

Donnie angst beginning to lessen. Good.

Spoiler:
Okay, episode five I believe? Welcome, please take a seat....

First of all, this is my favourite episode of the new series so far. It really got back into the style of the first 5 seasons by keeping a good mix of action and comedy. So, onto the points:

Positives:
- To say again, the action was high-kicking and adequately brutal. I like the fact that Hun's new technology doesn't immediately go into the laser-blaster category and sticks with funky glowing mallets instead. All the pretty colours with plenty of smashing. Excellent.

- Mike has given up the extra cheese and gone back to solid sarcasm. Love it. In fact, all the humour appears to have smartened up. I particularly liked the part where the lift 'ping-ed' before it blew up.

- I've noticed some people have likened Donatello's anger to Leo's in the previous season. Hats off to the writer's but it looks to me like they are making a conscious effort to differ the angst. Leo's was anger driven while Don's seemed more how a scientist would react - cutting off unnecessary emotion and focusing on a single goal. I rather like it.

- Baxter Stockman! Need I say more. He is one of the great TMNT villains - next to Bishop - and I love his detached humour when faced with impending doom. "Sorry, but I just had that back panel servo installed last week, it's imported." Classic

- As someone has already mentioned - I like continuity. Referring to City at War and the Hun/ Stockman/Shredder relationship was very fitting.

Not-so-positives: (Because no-one like a negative)

- What's with the all-black special forces costumes for Mike, Leo and Raph? They never needed them before so why now? It came across as an unnecessary extra, rather than part of the story.

- Cheeeesy ending. Not with Don's speech but the laughing, A-Team-style fade out. There's no need.....

- This is more for me than anything....The eyes STILL creep me out....seriously....they look 12 years old....

Excellent! I love the part where Donny fell off the tower thing when Baxter suddenly appeared on his communicator. Baxter does look very cool in this season. One of the best character designs yet!

I see I wasn't the only one to instantly think of Quarrymen, with the Dragons' new weapons. Ah, the parallels continue.

I was somewhat surprised that Baxter's call startled Don enough to fall off of his perch... I realize he's focused, but he forgot his surroundings, wow...

The Shredder: "If I knew you were capable of such fine work, I would have treated you better!"
Baxter: "Reeeaally?"
The Shredder: "No."

Ahhh, funny. Somewhat out of character for Ch'rell (after Season 5, I don't particularly like calling him by title anymore.. ), but a gigglesome exchange.

Okay... this Karai fan is gonna pitch some kind of fit if she doesn't show up in some sort of capacity. Helloooo, the Foot is hers, unless she resigned, handed it off to someone else, maybe Khan? At least tell me, so I don't keep wondering?

Seems to me that Hun and Baxter reached some sort of grudging tolerance for each other, after getting put in the same boat, wanting to be rid of Karai and Chaplin, respectively. Though, yes, one wonders where Bishop is... he and Karai are sorely missed, what with goings-on that directly affect them..

OMG! this was a good episode! Baxter/Shredder outfit was a sick design! I need an action figure of that I like the Baxter/ turtles team up. Why do the turtles need black suits when they are sneaking around? They never used them before so why now? Overall this was an awesome episode! I also liked Hun's expression when he saw the Shredder! "Oh Crud." LOL

Forgive me if I missed it, but where is this reference to City at War?

And I even told my son today, "I know of one mistake they will make in this episode," before it even aired, and that is Bishop not being around.

To clear up his story in the future, when they go back to a future not yet written, that is big no-no in story terms.

I miss the kick ass Bishop who could fight beyond belief already.

EDIT: I'm also surprised no one has mentioned yet about them running across the rooftops in the shadows again.

When the guys return to the lair after April's daring rescue, Leo mentions that the Foot and Purple Dragons are fighting, and the "last time went to war the city was torn apart." (I have it taped....)

I loved this episode. Alot of good action. The turtles look cool in their black stealth suits.

Tough choice for Don to have made but at least he still has a chance to regain those lost bits. Splinter would have wanted it that way. He would be so dissappointed if Don sacrificed his brother just for him.

My favorite funny moment was when Mike, Raph and Leo were playing hot potato with Baxter's cranium. Poor Baxter

Blame Playmates, it's a tie in to the mini mutant turtles.

Fun episode. Best fight scene yet, best jokes, not alot to say that hasn't already been covered.

Except this:

C'mon guys. I know there were budget cuts, but you couldn't do five frames of new animation for Mikey's foot?

I thought that was Raph's foot, I can't tell very well.

Check the skin tone. It is most definately a shot of Mikey's foot from the first five seasons. Oy vey.

- Leo talks more than in previous episodes.

- Donnie seems to have a one track mind, which is not the case in previous seasons.

- The cyber thing is getting tired. At least they showed April kicking arse and enough IRL action.

- Bizarre twist of the switching of brains. Definitely seeing the homage to Krang here.

To bad we didn't actually see them "punch and kick" them. I like little hints that the turtles are not above taking out any one regardless of gender.
Yeah I totally did, also when CyberShredder/Baxterborg had thrown all those purple dragons across the room on their heads, gotta wonder if some of them aren't dead.

Indeed it is, yet they can't do things the other way around and make toys based on the show.

I suppose I'm in the minority here but I didn't care for it. The shredder/Baxter thing was awesome i loved it. The major part of the turtles is family. Leo, Mike , and Raph seem like they don't even care that their father is missing and are on Don's but because he does. I don't see the problem with Don's angst. He thinks he murdered his father. Really, Leo doesn't even mention him? I don't know maybe I'm wrong.

This episode seemed quite decent. It may have not broken any ground or anything, but I was glad to see Baxter and Hun working together again. The fact that their, I guess, rivalry with Shredder and the Foot is still going on was a nice suprise. I'm not sure if it's just me, but I don't seem to be expecting a lot from this season, so maybe that's a good thing. Anyway, the cyber aspect did serve its purpose and it didn't get on my nerves. I think that was because the writer or whoever didn't feel the need to go all out with that aspect, which I imagine was a good decision on their part.

I did like the fact that the Turtles worked with Stockman, even if it wasn't that much. It's good to know that they all see Shredder as a threat and aren't gonna give up fighting.

There was plenty of action and humor to keep me engaged, even though I kinda fell asleep for some reason. I was able to rewind, though, so I didn't miss much.

Overall, this episode was a little above average. I wasn't sure what to expect, so I think that paid off. In a way, I can't wait to see how the relationship with the Turtles and Stockman will, I guess, develop more because I actually like the fact that they are working together.

Good ep. Good to see Baxter again. Just wish we'd seen more of the foot (other than the like 5 second cameo).

I noticed when April was flying the coptor in her gear (why was she flying in her gear anyways?) she wasn't wearing her engagement ring.

I LOVE the new black ninja outfits the guys were wearing....it showed off Raph's muscles very nicely...*drools*

When Don revealed that Splinter's bits were at a Texas Paper Factory I couldn't help but wonder "Will Hanna Getleman, the mutant girl with cyber powers in Heroes, be involved?" or well anybody from Heroes...Im like "Oh no! The Company has Splinter!" *lol*

Baxter walking around like a Spider and the way he moved his spider hands kinda reminded me of Charlotte from Charlotte's Web. *lol*

Quotes:

"Pretty sparklies!" - Mikey

Baxter: "Watch my back!"
Mikey: "You don't really have a back..."
*door* Ding!
