How old were you when the original cartoon started in 1987? - Page 2

*tone-master21* · 06-17-2010, 08:28 PM

I was a little over 2 years old.

*Raph's Girl* · 06-17-2010, 08:51 PM

I was 7 when the series started. Don't think I saw it till I was 8 tho.

ooglafina · 06-17-2010, 08:57 PM

I was five at the time. It's funny because I don't remember being very into the turtles when I was young. Not until I was older and could appreciate the characters.

I remember my first encounter with TMNT. In first grade we had a special day where we could watch a TV show for some reason. I think the teachers were in conference and they needed a way to placate us all. Everybody voted for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I had never heard of it and thought it was the stupidest thing I'd ever heard of. I remember watching it and thinking that Krang was really creepy. I never watched the movies until I was a pre-teen and then realized the greatness of it all.

I didn't know it aired that late in the year. I was actually a few weeks late. Awesome sauce.

I would have been four in late '87...but I didn't see it until late 1988.

Archon_Turtle · 06-17-2010, 10:56 PM

I was 6.

Also, Sausages.

Toon · 06-17-2010, 11:05 PM

10. That original mini-series changed the course of my life.

**GK Punk** · 06-17-2010, 11:26 PM

I was 7. He-Man and GI Joe were the ones I liked when I was really little.

Voidoid · 06-17-2010, 11:39 PM

I was 0. I was born in 90', but I started watching the Turtles since I was 1 my mother says. I still have my original VHS tapes and my Donatello x-mas stocking that I hung on the tree since I was 2.

*Luzmagica* · 06-18-2010, 12:07 AM

I was 7 and yeah, I watched it from the first few months it aired and was hooked...nothing like being a child of the 80's in America when you were old enough to remember it all and experience it. Nothing has compared to it since especially with the crap of today in all entertainment markets.

*shuriken* · 06-18-2010, 07:05 AM

I wasn't even born yet... was born spring of '89. didn't get hooked on it until '91.

*sdp* · 06-18-2010, 09:28 AM

about a year, so its surprising I still caught the TMNT fad at its peak.

I love the year I was born, I got to experience all of the 90s mostly, saw plenty of 80s stuff through re-runs in the early 90s and finished off my childhood with the peak of the Pokemon fad. My childhood almost spans what three generations recall as their childhood

Except maybe being a kid in the 90s.
80s > 90s

Volvagia · 06-18-2010, 10:53 AM

I was 1 year and about 3 months old

*Original TMNT Cartoon Fan* · 06-18-2010, 12:12 PM

I'm born in 1982, and was 5 years old. But the TMNT franchise didn't come to Sweden until 1990.
