Since when do networks care how many episodes a show has? With this logic, they wouldn't cancel any shows that were left open-ended either, and TV would be full of shows nobody watches. They only care about what makes money. By this time, TMNT had pretty much worn out its welcome. Although it would've been funny to see a tv exec say "wait! We can't cancel TMNT! It only has 7 episodes left until the 200 episode milestone!"
Personally I think it ended at a good time. Most of the public had been burned out on TMNT for a few years, and most of the kids who grew up with it were now teenagers who didn't watch cartoons. |

Given that CBS was the network that had a chance to give us an animated series for the wonderful comic, "Elfquest", but that kept making demands on Wendy and Richard Pini (EQ's co-creators and de-facto owners) to CHANGE things, storyline and character-wise that wpould have effectively turned what COULD have been one excellent action/adventure/fantasy series in to "Elf-Babies" (the elfin equivalent of "The Muppet-Babies"), and to which Wendy and Richard very naturally said "Thanks, but NO, thanks", that didn't totally surprise me, actually.
![]() Which I totally agree with Vegita-San, The Ninjinister and TerranigmaFreak (and especially Vegita-San) on THEIR assessment of CBS's reasons for not giving us 200 eps of the Classic TMNT series.

Ah, yes, I remember that one, too. It's funny you mention it because ever since then I've been cutting those plastic pieces into little bits (using scissors, not katanas). I felt bad for the animated seagull that was caught in one! |

If you don't have to pay for your Masons, you can bet your bottom dollar there's something wrong with them.
