Dave: You're funny. I like that. You're allowed to stay.

Actually I care less about any type of "authority" I've just been here long enough to see how things work. And you're right, without naming names (I know exactly who you mean though Dave) some of the "vets" here are insufferable because they act like they own the place but they're not really who I'm talking about, because I don't think too many people bother taking them seriously anyways. And they mostly stay in their preferred sections anyways, so they're really less the issue. At least they're not at all the reason the Movie Section is in such disrepair. They virtually never post in it. So we'll remove them from the conversation, in the interest of not making things overly-complicated.

It's less about "clique behavior" and more about, there's a "Mood" in social gatherings, and it can be a bitch to maintain, but its worth it if it makes the place better and more colorful in the long run. Like, just for example, I can give Zarius a ton of sh*t about the movies he likes, and he can give me sh*t back, even if one of us says something that, to a casual observer was "way outta line", and it's all in good fun because I've known the guy for however long and he knows how to "read" my posts and vice-versa. Now, I take that same exact approach to someone who hasn't quite "caught the vibe" of this place yet, I give them the same kind of ribbing, there's 50/50 chance they're gonna take it personally and get all cranky about it. That's just the way it is, it takes time for people to both establish themselves and build rapport with other people. But anyone who's first reaction to a poke is to get all personally offended doesn't belong here, and thankfully, they usually don't stay. Me? I treat everyone the same. If I can be friends with someone like pennydreadful, even though I routinely refer to females as "spunk dumpsters" and the like, then I don't think anyone should take it too personally if I hate their favorite movie. You'd *think* they'd be mature enough to get over it, right?

Like it or not, it's a HUGE reason why the newer people this year have been getting into so many arguments with the "vets". Everyone here more or less "knows" each other. I swear, I have seen WAY worse debates over the years than the stuff going on about this movie, and nothing ever got this bad. So, you isolate the variable: The Newer Members. If almost 15 years pass, and people can debate and discuss and even argue and occasionally people get into fights so bad that some people are literally telling other people to kill themselves, and it never goes past a light Mod scolding, AND YET, every single day since this movie was advertised, there have been fights, name-calling, threads have been locked... What does that say? It says that the entire problem isn't the people who have Been Here and know how to deal with each other, and that they don't water things down for anyone else, it's that Other People haven't adapted, aren't interested, and just want everyone to kiss their ass (or, more specifically, kiss their movie of choice's ass).

Anyone who's been here a good while will tell you that's the only real problem. Literally a very small handful of people who came in back in Spring or thereabouts, and expected that the "environmental" Status Quo of the forum going back over ten years was going to change overnight to suit them, and who just CAN'T get over the fact that some people don't like something they like. It's not about "people arguing" or "people disagreeing", "elitist behavior" or "bad attitudes" or any of that, because all the people on my Friends List are people I can't really remember WHAT we even agree on at all, I just know I think they're cool people. The difference is a lot of folks who have Been Here will gladly debate and argue all day long with no hurt feelings, and it's Just Fun. A few of the "rookies" haven't figured out how to do that yet. Well, they can either Learn, or they can Leave. But No, they definitely don't get to have their little "Everyone Agrees" echo chamber. And who wants that, anyway?

((The above is a case in point. *I* know Dave well enough to know when he's ribbing me, or just being colorful, or whatever, even when he's making a serious point. Meanwhile, to an outward observer like Trick, who I'm ALSO friends with, it might look like Dave is just taking shots or whatever. It takes a certain amount of time to be able to "read a room". Thanks guys! ))

Anyways, I'm not keen on the "treat other people yadda yadda", that works exactly Never. I just treat everyone 100% the same, aaaaand if they don't like it I know they have a sandy vagina and probably aren't worth talking to.

C'mon, guys, lighten up, it's not like it's the strictest club in town or anything. LOTS of y'all have gone from Zero to Hero around here in a relatively short amount of time just by NOT being ridiculously sensitive. See? You Win! It's not at all hard. There's nothing wrong with This Place; there's something wrong with Some People, and some of them may yet prove themselves worthy. It's not like everybody doesn't get, like, twelve chances to straighten up.

No, I didn't survey women. Back when I liked wrestling I asked some non-wrestling liking females if they thought John Cena was sexy, both women I knew in real life and women on forums. The result was a resounding no as they actually considered him the antithesis of that.

Someone mentioned alphas, which put me in the zone. Can't be a slayer when you're minority niche appeal.

Whenever I hear a gaggle of hens clucking about which wrestlers they like, I hear a lot of praise and swooning over Randy Orton, and a lot of comments about John Cena having a "Caveman Forehead". I never hear anyone else come up, it's usually just those two.

Y'know who's damn striking up close, though? F***in' GLACIER. No kiddin'.

Exactly. MR RKO is - by objective standards - a comfortably better looking man than Mr Cena. Orton is just a naturally handsome man. Cena, on the other hand...well his appeal comes from his masculinity, and the masculinity comes from the muscularity. Cena's HGH jaw (aye, of course you don't juice, John, looool) and his really manly face wouldn't exist if not for his working out and juicing. His gym rat lifestyle is what makes his face 'good looking' to the niche that I refer to. He's certainly not a naturally good looking man, unlike Orton.

Cena looks like Matt Damon after Matt Damon ate another Matt Damon. If Cena had never been into wrestling or bodybuilding and had spent his life as a scrawny guy he wouldn't be considered good looking, because his 'good looking' facial aesthetics comes from how masculine his face and jaw is. That simply wouldn't exist without the bodybuilding. What people overlook is that working out has a GIANT effect on the face as well. That's why you see the overweight slobs who clearly have the makings of a nice defined jawline, but because they don't hit the gym they have multiple chins which disguise their potential fantastic facial aesthetics. Then you have the opposite - men like Cena who aren't naturally good looking but have managed to become 'good looking' to a niche demographic through working out and carving the 'hulking square jawed caveman' look. Fair play to the guy, it works for him.

No idea who Glacier is, but he's probably cool as ice which accounts for his popularity.

Glacier was pretty much the opposite of popular - WCW brought back the gimmick after they killed it JUST to completely kill and bury it some more, which is pretty vicious even for them - but he IS a damn handsome man. Very sharp. Set your watch to his crew-cut, you could.

This is going to happen, as it's pretty much a set deal already. It's a bit up in the air with Casey though, I'm not 100% sure about him showing up.

And I wish Shredder would reveal his face behind the armor.
I would be surprised if Rahzar didn't show up, and Slash (or Tokka) wasn't there either. Those two seem to be the next 'canon' pairing after Bebop and Rocksteady, and I could easily see Shredder likely double mutating one of his henchmen into Rahzar (and maybe a turtle into Tokka or Slash) after Bebop and Rocksteady fail to take down the Turtles. It seems like it would be a natural evolution of things, especially with Bay and the way he likes to ramp things up (and make things more explody.)
