People were going to criticize any changes they made no matter how small.

If anything it could just be that it makes more sense to pair the sun with blue (as in blue sky) because purple is more of a night sky.

The purple for the night sky works because every year on her birthday the lanterns were lit and sent up the stars so that Rapunzel, who is the lost princess of her kingdom, could find her way home. Rapunzel also wears purple.

Ya I know I'm just saying in general putting the sun in a blue sky makes more sense. Maybe they change the colors at the end after she returns.
