yeah that would make sence, FDR was an excellent president.
race is something republicans had to get on board because thats where the votes were going. I never said Bush was a racist, he may have some unconcious bias, but many people do without wanting to. Eisenhower was a racist.

Well you want world issues? Two days ago a bomb went off in near a Bali nightclub. And then while people were fleeing another went off. Bali is a very popular place for holidays for Australians. People were killed and a lot were severly hurt

Bush has investments in Oil same with all the senators and conngressmen who voted for the war. Saddam is cruel and evil, he uses biological and chemical weapons on his people. Weapons we helped him make to attack Iran. But when he invaded Kuwait it compromised our oil intrests there. So Bush the first invaded now Bush the Second wants the oil in Iraq. its all for selfish gain.
Buzz. Try again.

If all Bush cared about was oil, he'd pressure the UN to lift the economic sanctions on Iraq, get Iraq to produce more oil and turn a blind eye to Saddam's human rights abuses in his country instead of pushing for war (sort of like we do with Saudi Arabia). As late as *October 2001*, a lot of oil industry-types were still lobbying for the end of sanctions.

A lot of financial analyst-types think that invading Iraq will *raise* oil prices. OPEC nations could start an embargo or start cutting down production, civil war in Iraq (think about Afghanistan) might break out in areas where the US might want to drill for oil, etc.

Like all universal "truths" about politics (Democratic: government programs will eliminate poverty, AIDS, and all of society's ills; Republican: what's good for business is good for the nation), the leftist credo (governments are corrupt and ruled entirely by corporate interests) is doomed to failure.

But...who wants taxes? And I don't think they're anarchists (otherwise they'd be CALLED anarchists). Like I said, I'm a swinger; I don't believe in every value of either party. For instance, the Libertarians want all National Park land to be taken out of the sanction of the government. I don't support that; by making it a National Park, it already IS public land. As for the Greens, I sometimes think they go a bit too far on the whole environmental issue. True, Ralph Nader may be a consumer rights activist, but once in awhile they'll push for too high a standard that in essence takes away freedom while saving lives.

I don't know...he supports the legalization of marijuana (not just for medicinal purposes, I hear), is another activist on homosexual rights, and we have him to thank for seat belts...I think he has a chance.

Why are so many people dissing Bush here? If we're not hard on these jerks we're gonna be in trouble. This tread is for world issues. Incase you haven't noticed they were planning two other attacks bigger and worse than the twin towers. All I have to say is: Evil started in the middle east and the destruction of the world will begin there by some tyranical jack ass with power! These people need a good kick in the ass!

In the case of Clinton, say wut you want about bush, but at least Bush ain't usein cigars to make the horizontal poka with people!

Oy this may end up as a real long post.

Ok, first off did you know Iraq had medicare, free education and food in 1990?! right before the sanctions, now all thousands of Iraqi CHILDREN have died of lack of food, I find that repulsive and it gets worse. The UN wants to lift sanctions but the US has repeatedly said no, those are children are dying. The point of Iraq is
1.Its election time, the government has spat out so much propaganda that Americans belive its right.
2.Oil, right now we buy Iraqi oil and are stockpiling it in a trade for food, the trick is we don't give any food. but if we invade iraq put in a regime that will support the US like Saddam used to. Then we can just take all the oil we want. The war may flip over the economy, sure, and if oil prices rise then it can be sold for more leading to Bush, Cheney and all the othe r fat cats in his addministration getting rich and the bailing out otherwise screwing over Iraq and the american people. Saddam to the US is like a pet which lost its owners love by peeing on the carpet, now the owner will have it eliminated and get one that will do everything he says until it displeases the owner.

Ok now for the libertarian stuff. The basic policy of libertarians is no taxes and no government programs. No taxes would lead us into so much debt that there would need to be so much tax to get us out you would leavve the country. no programs includes enviromental, health and everything else, like the Republicans eliminating big government but to an outragous extreme. And putting buisnesses up to run th government instead. The environment is going down the tubes and fast, we are polluting the world and destroying a very beautiful land, there needs to be action on this now, or it will never happen. Nader is incredible he is deffinitly someone I look up to and would of voted for if I was not too small. I can't say leagelized Marijuana is a great idea though. Meddically yes, but even people who say it is not addictive and causes no harm don't know, they maybe deffending thier own addiction, I've seen people who are addicted it takes its toll on you and your brain severely.

And for Prowler, read Harpers magazine and some forign journals, the "free" press here is just propaganda these days.

Uh, I did know that Iraq was a very prosperous country in 1990.

Did you know that Iraq is essentially a police state?

Kurdish-controlled areas in Northern Iraq live under the same economic sanctions as the rest of the country, but people who live there are relatively well off.

If Bush were advancing the war for political gain, then doing so *before* the elections makes no sense, as it could very well lead to masses of disgruntled voters putting a bunch of Democrats in Congress. It would have made far more sense for Bush to spend all his time campaigning for Republicans to win back the Senate and House of Representatives, *then* declare war on Iraq.

Would you care to explain exactly how the US is cheating Iraq in the *UN*-administered oil-for-food program?

First you say that toppling Saddam and installing a puppet regime will lead to cheap oil and profits for the oil-stained Bush administration, but then you say that the war will lead to increased oil prices and profits for the oil-stained Bush administration. You can't have it both ways.
