Again: $60 million! I know that with all the delays & lack of promotion among other things that Nick began to lose interest in the series before long, Paramount failed to make it big at the box office, IDW's success with the TMNT varies by who you ask; but they've spent too much money here to just sit back and eat it! I expect them to do something and, quite frankly, they have to.
They've probably already recouped their investment from merch sales alone. $60 million isn't that much for an IP like TMNT.

Yep, all the toys/merch/licensing probably made back their money within the first 2 years or so.

A possible sign that season 5 could be the last season?

It's literally IDW'S best selling book. Month-in and month-out. There's no argument to be made.

Too bad this show didn't have a Christmas episode, otherwise they'd be forced to air it before the end of the year.

I guess if the show was hand-drawn it would have aired by now. CGI is great, but it takes time.

CGI has nothing to do with Nick's wacky-ass air dates. Look at Korra.

It's not just Nick, either. Look how CN treated Young Justice.

What's weird is that by not showing new episodes its the reasons ratings decline because even little kids get bored of watching the same shows over and over and then they have no idea when a new episode airs.

Disney as well, who basically cause death to their cartoons by taking them off Disney Channel and onto Disney XD, where the viewership ratings led to the cancellation of Wander Over Yonder, and Gravity Falls would've been cancelled had it not been given a proper ending. It's a shame how Disney asked less care to it's cartoon on TV considering where Disney started. I think CN, Nick and Disney need to step their game up. CN needs to not cancel shows that aren't finished ie Young Justice, Nick needs to advertise a show that's not SpongeBob as well as create/pick up more than just 2 good shows (excluding reruns of old cartoons). Disney needs to show less care for love action Didn't channel and focus more on the cartoons.

Unrelated, but it took 4 years to air 2 seasons of Gravity Falls, which is why the Turtles constant hiatus' don't bug me.

Of course there's other factors but c'mon, it obviously ties into it. CGI animation definitely takes longer to produce than hand-drawn animation.

But yeah, Nick is pretty weird with TMNT's air dates. I don't watch Korra, haven't even watched Avatar TLA (planning to) but I can imagine it's weird too.

Right now Nick's TMNT is just something I watch when the latest episode has aired, and then forget about until it comes back. I miss having a consistent schedule. It's the only modern cartoon that's still currently airing that I watch at the moment, so I feel bad for anyone who's watching more than 1 that have weird air dates.

That's a shame, I really liked the Half-Shell Heroes special. It should be a more regular thing.

I had a dream the other night that I was watching the rest of the season. Just thought I would share it with you all, since it sounded interesting.

* Shredder was back hunting the turtles again; this time is 20 ft tall, bulkier and more monstrous than he was before. His heart basically turned to steel, so it would be more difficult for it to get damaged.
* Shredder tracked down the turtles' home and destroys just about everything. The heroes barely escape with their lives and make it to the outskirts of the sewers.
* Splinter tries to hold Super Shredder off and tells his sons to return to April's farm house. Splinter is beaten within an inch of his life again but tries to lure Shredder into some crusher filter thing at the bottom of a big sewer hole in a final attempt to kill him.
* The heroes have to jump across a pipe to other side of the hole, which is higher up but Splinter is still lagging behind. Super Shredder continues to gain ground, getting closer and closer. A very weak Splinter finally appears and almost makes it across --- until Shredder finally catches up and impales Splinter from behind. Dying, Splinter tells his sons to never lose hope and that he's proud to have been their father. Then, Splinter falls into the crusher below to his demise.
* Shredder laughs maniacally as the heroes cry in despair. Leo begs everyone to leave the city before they all die. They manage to escape the Super Shredder and leave New York, once again.
* Later, the turtles make it to the farm house --- only to find it devastated. Shredder's henchman were already there waiting for them. Feeling hopeless with nowhere to go, they try to outrun the henchmen wondering what to do next.

And that was it... Kinda bleak, but I would almost expect the show to do the same.
