I am Happy to take what we are given, if you get 1 character you want, (in my case duck Hunt, since the 64 smash) count yourself lucky. I have learnt with mixed roster games to be open minded, and that you will never get the roster 100% the way you want it. The game has to change with the times, and stay fresh. I am pissed at Wolf and the Ice climbers being cut, but like I said on the flip side we get Duck Hunt, little mac, Pacman etc.

Have faith and support the charcaters you want. More will come in the form of DLC, and possible interaction bewteen Wii U and 3ds.

Very few games these days are made to the High standard and quality of Nintendo and the Smash Bros series, unless of course you like all the generic 3rd person shooter crap.

Can't be positive about something without putting something else down, eh?

Is there that many third-person shooters that it's "generic"?

Nintendo is sending out Smash 3DS demo codes to Platinum members who are opted into emails. 4 codes per email. Of course no one opts into ad sh*t, so everyone is scrambling to CN to change their account settings and the site is sh*tting the bed.

Yup! It's pretty f*cked up.

Seems like they're burning more goodwill than their gaining by locking people out of the demo, honestly. Especially the ones they're locking out on bullsh*t technicality.

Shows how predictable you are. I haven't chatted with Leo in months, let alone an AIM conversation. I'm not that desperate for attention. I was just replying to a simple quote because I wanted to, no matter who said it.

You guys sure humor me with your indecisiveness, though. Going for that quota, I see?

I managed to get myself a free demo code from a gamefaqs member.

I'm firing up now.

Any early reviews on it yet?

Eh. It's Smash. I don't really think you need reviews to know if you're gonna be into it or not.

However, the super gross FGC seems to be fairly happy so far. Make of that what you will.

Or All-Stars Battle Royale.

That'd be a ironic counter.

ok been all 5 characters now.

Megaman is awesome, but he is going to piss you off playing against him. He is easy as hell to spam with.

Villager is awesome, better than I thought. Love his air recovery.

Link, unchanged from Brawl tbh, but still awesome.

Mario like wise, fludd seems a little easy to use now.

Pickachu seems a lot more powerful.

3d seems very nice and the controls are easy to get use to. Takes minutes to know what your doing.

Overall awesome. Can't wait for the actual game.

Now I need to knock myself out and wake up in approx 3 weeks

I got a code from a friend, and I've played for quite a bit now. It's really fun and is better than I expected for the 3DS. Took me a little while to get used to the controls, but other than that it's awesome! Can't wait to get the full game next month!

Managed to get a code on Smashboards by lurking in the right place at the right time lol. God damn is the game beautiful. It looks and runs incredibly! I haven't had a ton of time to play it, but I've put in a handful of matches. Also, I'm not any kind of Smash "pro" so this is the take of a devoted casual at best.

The two new characters in the demo, Mega Man and Villager, happen to be my most anticipated and I've played as both of them a bunch.

Villager is a lot of fun and I especially enjoy how unique his smashes feel. The fact that they have weird properties, like the down smash burying and the side smash being able to travel downwards, makes them feel different. I also love the side-b gyroid rocket. It's especially satisfying when you ride it into a group and watch them all blast off! Final Smash is incredible.

Mega Man is weird, but probably my favourite to play as in the demo for that reason. I love how much damage he can do from range. His down smash also feels super powerful. I also love his down air, which is one of those super satisfying moves to land, especially off stage. He also has an awesome down taunt. The one thing of his I've found pointless is the leaf shield down-b. No idea what to do with it. Easily the best Final Smash too. Incredible fan service.

The veterans in the demo are surprisingly new feeling also. There are a lot of new animations and movement changes for a lot of them, even if they feel familiar.

Link's new dash attack is crazy powerful and his up-b definitely got more powerful, especially when charged. I only played as him a few times, but he feels a bit better to me now than he did previously. The dash attack just feels so damn satisfying. In Smash my favourite characters always have A move I feel satisfied landing every time i.e. Lucas' up smash, Ike's three hit combo, Ganondorf's side-b etc. Link's new dash feels like one of those moves to me. The one bummer to me is that his down air feels reeeeally slow now.

Pikachu also has some noticeable new animations, but I've never really been a big fan of him. He's fun enough, but none of his moves pack a satisfying punch to me and it doesn't seem like that's changed much. His new forward smash looks way better than the dumb one he had before though. Also, his design just looks soooo perfect and slick.

Mario feels like Mario, except much faster. FLUDD still seems useless. The rest of him feels pretty standard. He's the only vet I got a smash ball with and it seemed significantly weaker. I used it twice and even though I hit all three other characters with it I never got a single KO from it.

The controls came pretty naturally after a couple matches, although it's been difficult for me to get used to a jump button again after playing so many hours of Brawl on a ****** Wiimote with my nephew in the last few months. Starting to come around on that though.

In general I'm just so f*cking excited to be playing a new Smash and now I'm dying even worse for the full game. I see all the other characters and stages and just really want to dive into it. Seriously can't come soon enough.

I just can't get over how awesome villager is, love his final smash.

I agree about Link, evry time I pick him I win, he is alot more powerful.

I think mario's fludd move is alot more useful tbh. Pushed megaman and Link to their deaths with ease. Its got better range.

A friend and I just played this demo for four hours. I knew I would like Mega Man, and he's a ton of fun to play. The villager can catch items, projectiles, and even Mega Man's blasts and Mario's fireballs, and hold them in his pocket for later. It's pretty insane.

Also, you accumulate gold while playing, and there appears to be nothing to spend it on. Hopefully this will transferred to the full game, kind of like they did with Bravely Default.

I suppose the best thing about the game is how good it fits on 3DS. It controls well. I have a little trouble executing smash attacks, dashes, or dodges with the circle pas. It's not hard to see, even though I have a regular 3DS, not an XL. We'll see if it lacks features, but it does not, at all, feel like a second rate experience.
