i cant explain why he listed and delisted it 11 times in a row or whatever. but hes definitely has multiple accounts where he relists same item and is shill bidding them up.

Right but usually then you d sell the item at a higher cost (bc you bumped up the price) but he never sells the items

Scalextric makes slot cars. They are quite popular in the UK from what I can tell. And they have been making TMNT themed sets for years. There are a few from the vintage line and quite a few from the 2003 line.

yeah its a fake sale. hes offering to sell it to me now via the ebay private message. which i wouldnt touch for 100$ btw

well, i acutally had messaged him a while ago when i saw it being delisted and relisted. and i asked if he still had it and what a buy it now price would be. i snet maybe 2-3 messages. never got a response. then when i found here that everyone knows hes just shill bidding/scammer, i messaged him again and said id purchase it for 5k. just to see if he would bite. and sure enough instant response. so he was messaging trying to get me to buy it for that. he originally said hell sell it to me through paypal. then he said to just bid 5k on the auction. i just stopped responding though

Man the level of dishonesty in this country is really disheartening. The sad thing is that there very well might be some sucker out there that will fall for it.

Oh ok. I see what's being talked about now. I had to go a little ways back in the thread to figure it out. Is there ANYthing that can be done to stop crap like that?

In my experience, no. I've reported sellers that consistently cheat their buyers and blatantly disobey ebay policies and despite my well documented proof, all they did was take my call and say they would look into it. They told me I wouldn't be told what the outcome would be but they take this type of thing seriously. To my knowledge nothing was done since the seller continued to accumulate the same types of poor feedback about being sent defective items and not taking them back.

I don't know why ebay won't step up and eliminate people that besmirch their brand, but maybe if enough people complain about this guy then they might stop him, but I won't hold my breath.

I had actually had a scammer try to buy something from me once. They told me they were missionaries in some foreign country and they had an account with Fed Ex and that if I would go down there and send them the stuff they would send me the money when they got in a place where they could send it. I was like "uhhh...no." So really the fraud goes both ways ya know?

Absolutely. I've had some fraudulent potential buyers contact me as well. However, ebay stands to lose credibility from having fraudulent sellers. Sellers are a dime a dozen... losing buyers (and the bad word of mouth they spread) is what hurts sites like ebay the most.
