that box art kinda reminds me of the animation style of the Shorts that have been airing occasionally this season...

No Way it will be the end. The movie will likely draw more interest into the franchise among kids and older fans alike. I can almost bet that season 6 will come.

I think it' easier for them to make multiple seasons of the ninja turtles than it is for most writers with other shows. They're usually a season filled with stand alone episodes. TMNT has deep and complex story arcs for a [kids] cartoon. It's easy to drag episodes out to finish one story.

Yeah but kids don't like that, and that's why TMNT is in danger.

What if the Lost Season is really what would have been after FF, but they already decided to cancel it, before they finished up the storyline??
I hope that movie doesn't flop...'cause if it does they probably will cancel TMNT like 2 weeks after. It would be great if TMNT could land #1 in the box office that week. |

Ghost Rider is going to annihilate is sadly...I mean it's a more adult movie. TMNT is a more kids movie and I would assume more people would rather see GH then TMNT. If Laird was smart he would hold off a week on that one.

Yeah but look at Ice Age 2, it's beating everything. It even beat Sharon Stone's naked ass in Basic Instincts 2.
Think about it, anyone who hasn't read comics probably never even heard of Ghost Rider, he's never had a tv show. But people are already familiar with the TMNT, so parents are gonna take theyr'e kids to see it. Plus it's CGI, and nowadays people are craving CGI. |

You guys assume they're going to release the TMNT movie on the projected date. I'd be surprised.

I saw Ice Age II because I liked the first one. Both very cute and funny, especially if you bring the kids along. Personally I think TMNT has a wider audience than both of those movies, but it has the problem of being viewed as "kid's stuff."

I know, it's been veiwed as kids stuff since 1987, but this movie could change that.
But even if it doesn't it could still make big money. It'll probably attract the 18-25 demographic who watched the old cartoon, it'll definatley attract the kids who watch the new show now, and us hardcore fans are obliged to go see it, plus the parents who take theyr'e kids will have to buy themselves a ticket, so bottom line, it'll most likey be financially sucessful, and hopefully critcally. And if the movie is as dark as Kevin Munroe said it is, maybe they can finally cast off that cursed kiddy stigma. |

My fear is this, since Video games have been getting more popular movie industry has been taking huge hits. I mean 9 bucks a movie ticket is so out there, I hardly see anything in theaters now. I just hope TMNT doesn't suffer this.

I think many people are underestimating the nostalgia and pop culture factor. Many people who are now young adults grew up with Ninja Turtles (as TMTWBR said), and I think they will go see this movie as something fun to do on a Friday or Saturday night. I have yet to meet someone at college who hates TMNT. Whenever people see me with my TMNT shirts, I get compliments and people start reminicing about how they used to watch TMNT, and who their favorite turtle was. I think this movie has potential to start a third wave of TMNT popularity, if the new toon counts as the second.
