hmm

I prefer the pink. At least the toy looks really cool to me. Things are fine the way they are though.

I often wondered, why did TPTB give Venus blue when Raphael was already blue even if it was light blue and Leo's was made a dark blue. Yellow would have been preferable atleast to me. There were teases of Mike wearing yellow in the Arcade game art so for Venus to wear it that would have made sense. Leo to give up his color to Venus though? No thanks.

Well that's a new one on me. Yeaaah...glad they just went with what they did, two blue tones isn't exactly "confusing." Maybe only if you're color blind to blue... (But then there are the turtle boobs to help differentiate either way. )

Yellow does not have good connotations to stick the leader with and pink would be an annoyingly lazy choice for "the girl." Heck, they could have gotten brave for Venus and went with...heaven forbid...a green, in a shade far different enough from her skin tone. Or I dunno, the yellow? Or better yet, the black option! But who could ever imagine putting a girl in a color that's not seen as inherently "girly"? Surely not them.

But Indigo, if she doesn't have a pink mask and turtle-bewbs, how will people know she's a girl?!

lol Super glue and a big "hair" bow stuck right to her bald noggin. It's a shock anyone knows she's a girl without one.

I've actually never seen those prototypes before, they look awesome, especially Venus! While I can see why they changed it, I actually do like the pink on her better...but Leo with the yellow/green doesn't look that great to me.

I really love the color pink and wish it didn't have a strong stigma attached to it. But then again pink=girly and girly=bad so I guess it only makes sense. Whatever. I think it would have made more sense for Venus to wear pink, yellow or even white since the fact that there have been two turtles wearing the same color always bothered me.

It's not that pink = bad, it's just that a lot of the time it's the only option/default for girl characters, and it can get really annoying.

Interestingly enough, the pink for girls/blue for boys thing with kids stuff didn't really get started until 1940. Prior to that, pink was actually seen as a boys' color as it was seen as a stronger color, while blue was perceived as daintier and more suitable for girls.

I don't know who took my catalog scan and re-uploaded it to another site but not cool.
I mean I know I can't stop people but what's the point when you can link from the page?

Anyway Venus was going to be pink from the start to my knowledge.
I don't know why they switched it to baby blue like they did.
I also remember at one point hearing that the turtles would switch colors and start wearing things outside of their normal color choices for this show.
We didn't really get to see that outside of the camo figures.

I think to really get a real solid answer on this you'd have to get it from Kevin Eastman.

Anyone remember Aska Badoura?

I liked her drawings of Venus with a white bandanna. I really don't know why they went with a lighter blue when they could've gone with any other color, white, pink, yellow, etc. I'm guessing they thought boys wouldn't buy a pink turtle but they might buy a girl turtle if she's another color. Or maybe she was never meant to be pink; for Power Rangers they actually painted the Zord for the Pink Ranger pink on the toy while in the actual show it was white so kids wouldn't be confused so prototype colors on toys shouldn't necessarily mean something else.

I wouldn't count on that, he's referred to Karai as Shredder's daughter in the context of Mirage & made all kinds of other wildly inaccurate statements.

Oh really, that's odd as hell.
Nevermind then, he must be slipping.
