This is assuming he is still in the script and is a human turned mutant and not an alien or a warthog turned mutant.

I just cant picture him as any pre-existing human character. He's got a great voice so my money is on a mutant or whatever that Colonel Schrader thing was.

Considering the changes they at least were comfortable making, he could really be playing a heavily altered version of anyone. Who he seems to fit may have no bearing at all on what happens...

He could very well just play someone minor like April's boss or even her father or something.
I do notice he looks like he could be related to Megan Fox...so April's Dad may not be far off. |

Funny, my first though was Vernon as well. I have absolutely no idea why this movie needs a Vernon though. Might as well add more gasoline to the burning wreck.

I like Will Arnett, but I can't help but to feel incredibly confused with this movie.

He's got a great voice for Rat King. Definitely not who he's playing, but just sayin'.

That would be awesome! He does make for a good robot (Bumblebee, original choice for KITT in Knight Rider 2K

The original article from the Hollywood Reporter said he’s one of the leads. So he’s not going to be Bebop or Rocksteady. He’s obviously not Splinter. He can’t be a (serious) villain because he’s an actor with a very particular pedigree, unless they’re going out of their way to make the movie completely goofy. Maybe he's some sort of human bad guy who's in league with Krang, all the while serving as the comic relief?

I have it on good authority that he's playing the Great Boldini.

My bet is Shredder/Schrader. I can see him ordering soldiers around, and he's done some voice work to make me think he can pull off the military thing. And really, the word 'lead' doesn't leave room for much else...

Thats what I was thinking. His voice can have a very low register, and if theyre deciding to not go with a Japanese shredder, then he would certainly fit the colonel role. Though I still doubt his face will be seen much if at all, if he is in fact Schrader.

Yeah the obvious answer is that he's the comic relief, but one of Arnett's best features, is his Alec Baldwinian voice. His voice is dynamic and he can pull off evil really well. His time on 30 Rock and Arrested Development proved that. If he ends up playing Shredder or this Col. Schrader this could actually be a good thing.

This news actually made me happy, especially since the news that Fox is playing April. Ugh.
I can picture Arnett on the set muttering, "I've made a huge mistake."

Wasn't Krang in the script? Maybe he's Krang.
Side note: I don't even know who the hell this is.

I love Gob Bluth but don't think he fits anywhere in TMNT. He's just not that type of actor.
