maybe she is a storyboard artist, but maybe she made some fanmade story boards for fun?

she doesn't have to draw only professional work

either way we'll see, still hoping they are fake cause quite frankly....I don't know how long I can keep stomaching all the forced Apriltello.

it's beginning to be like Makorra for me.....tired of seeing it.

you can't escape it!!! If Donnie and April are in an episode together they are seriously under contract to have at least one awkward moment. (and if they don't....it's a rare miracle)

and those moments get old....real fast. admittedly they were cute at first...but by the second half of the first season it was annoying. Heck- the only reason I ship April with Casey is to get away from all the Apriltello! If it was my choice she'd be single T^T

if it was only a littttttle more subtle....everything would be perfect.

I've just become so bitter about it (I rant waaay to much about it)

I feel like an angsty teen.

Upon searching, the person the link listed, Ruolin Li is listed on the end credits of current Season 2 episodes as a "Storyboard Revisionist"

So if it is that person's official page, I can't fathom why it wouldn't be real. I'd find it hard to believe that Nickelodeon would force said poster to remove "fan art", that was the red flag for me.

Sorry to disapoint all the shippers but the storyboards are indeed fake. Another poster on tumblr who has images of legit turtles storyboards confirmed it by showing legit storyboards and comparing them. When you compare them its obvious that these ones are not real. April and the Turtles are not even drawn in the way they are in real storyboards. Click the link and you will see. http://nodelinquent.tumblr.com/post/...ruolin-li-tmnt

It's still 50/50 for me.

1. Not all storyboard drawers have the same style.
2. Ciro posted about Dreamworks stealing his team before. Might be new staff/people who did this one.
3. As per what Overlordofnobodies posted:

[About the storyboard posts here and here…]

Ruolin Li, the person who posted them on her official tumblr, is a Storyboard Revisionist at Nickelodeon Animation Studios. Look her up. Those storyboards came straight from the source, because she works at Nickelodeon, and she worked on them. She also deleted them not after posting them, so obviously, she probably wasn’t supposed to post them in the first place.

Some people are apparently saying that Ciro ‘called them out as fake’, but that really wouldn’t make any sense, considering that they came officially from someone who works on TMNT storyboards as part of their job. So if he really said that, then he was almost certainly either lying or confused.

I wouldn’t doubt that he might have said they were just storyboards and that means the story is still only in it’s infancy. Because it is. They could go back and change some things, who knows.

Whatever the case, those storyboards were something fans weren’t supposed to see.

While the first two points may have merit that still would only explain the art style not how the storyboards are structured differently from official material. Also if a person officially working for Nick really did leak future material then that person would be fired plain and simple. So that will be the clincher for whether or not its real, if the person still has their job after awhile it is probably fake. If not they could be real. Me I personally think the art looks to much like it was designed for tumblr to be real.

I hardly think it would warrant a firing, as good manpower for animation is hard to come by nowadays (again, remember Ciro's rant about Dreamworks stealing his team?).

Disciplinary punishment maybe. We may never know considering this is internal stuff.

This is a pretty big breach of trust if they're real. That artist would be fired. It might even be part of their initial hiring contract.

Its not just the style of the artwork the framing is also completely wrong as well as the way the movements went from one action to another. It just does not look like official work to me. Plus no studio would continue to employ someone who purposely leaked info like that. They would not be desperate enough to only have one person in a position and be in a situation where they cannot afford to be without said person. They have multiple people there who also work on storyboards, the artist would be fired plain and simple.

If I say... Nick April, what's the first thing that pops in your mind? A teen girl who's life we barely know about outside of the Turtles, that has a lot of Mary Sue traits.
Oh seriously, people; stop saying that. There is nothing at all that makes April a Mary Sue in the context of this series. She has some clairvoyant powers; yes, but they merely give her something of a life preserver against the sort of opponents that she may fight. It's not any sort of knockout power like Venus De Milo had. Indeed, I don't even know if April is as good a fighter as Casey, and so far he's just a normal human. The episodes whose plots focus on April and her special status are a minority, and in general the only people obsessed with her, for various reasons, and Donatello and the Kraang. The other Turtles and villains don't care that much.

Nick April may not be a complete Mary Sue, but she's definitely has some traits though. I haven't seen The Next Mutation for some time, but c'mon now couldn't we consider April's telekinesis power (the ripples emanating from her) just before the DNA extraction as the "knockout power" in "The Kraang Conspiracy"? It cleared not only the room, but also April Derp in another room.

Second, she developing her tessen skills fairly fast, especially with her fighting her clones in "The Kraang Conspiracy".
Third, already we had Donatello feeling jealous of Casey in an earlier episode since Casey was spending so much time with April. Plus wasn't Casey possibly flirting/teasing April? Isn't there a supposedly planned love triangle between Donnie, April, and Casey anyways?
Fourth, making her a mutant in "The Kraang Conspiracy" to make her even more of the center of attention for the Turtles' missions.

I'll also include the Mary Sue description from TV Tropes, just as a reminder:

Quote:
The prototypical Mary Sue is an original female character in a fanfic who obviously serves as an idealized version of the author mainly for the purpose of Wish Fulfillment. She's exotically beautiful, often having an unusual hair or eye color, and has a similarly cool and exotic name. She's exceptionally talented in an implausibly wide variety of areas, and may possess skills that are rare or nonexistent in the canon setting. She also lacks any realistic, or at least story-relevant, character flaws — either that or her "flaws" are obviously meant to be endearing.

She has an unusual and dramatic Back Story. The canon protagonists are all overwhelmed with admiration for her beauty, wit, courage and other virtues, and are quick to adopt her as one of their True Companions, even characters who are usually antisocial and untrusting; if any character doesn't love her, that character gets an extremely unsympathetic portrayal. She has some sort of especially close relationship to the author's favorite canon character — their love interest, illegitimate child, never-before-mentioned sister, etc. Other than that, the canon characters are quickly reduced to awestruck cheerleaders, watching from the sidelines as Mary Sue outstrips them in their areas of expertise and solves problems that have stymied them for the entire series. (See Common Mary Sue Traits for more detail on any of these cliches.)

In other words, the term "Mary Sue" is generally slapped on a character who is important in the story, possesses unusual physical traits, and has an irrelevantly over-skilled or over-idealized nature.
So Nick April has telepathic and telekinesis powers, learning to fight very quickly, is already the female on the show who is most desired, and is the most important element of the whole Kraang plot. Hmmm...
Not an exact Mary Sue, but it's coming close to it if you ask me...

Its probably one of Donatello's daydream things.

I have to admit though I wish it was real. It would be a pretty interesting and daring thing to do.

Plus its kinda hot if youre into that

Did you selectively read that?
* She's exceptionally talented in an implausibly wide variety of areas
- So...her psychic powers and being a seemingly quick learner in Ninjitsu is a "wide variety of areas"? That's 2...2 whole things...

* may possess skills that are rare or nonexistent in the canon setting.
- I might give you this one...not sure who aside from April and maybe the Rat King have any psychic powers.

* She has an unusual and dramatic Back Story.
- Not really unique to Nick April. Mirage April was a living drawing. And to be honest we're getting only hints of her back story. Not sure yet how dramatic it is.

* quick to adopt her as one of their True Companions
- All Aprils and Caseys fall pretty hard into this one. Has there ever been a universe where those 2 aren't practically the 5th and 6th Turtle, with no real worry about whether or not they're reveal the Turtles? Well...maybe Fred Wolf Casey...

* canon characters are quickly reduced to awestruck cheerleaders, watching from the sidelines as Mary Sue outstrips them in their areas of expertise
- I added a little to this, because it seems disprove April as a Mary Sue because she hasn't, as of now, out shined the boys. Don is awestruck because of the crush, not because April is out smarting or out ninjaing him...

Aside from those things she's not exotically beautiful and I'm pretty sure she's not the idealized Ciro....or whom ever else. She might be an idealized female so that girls have a strong capable character, but she's still in training...heck the Turtles flat tell her she's not ready several times, and she complicates the mission because she refuses to listen. Not a Mary Sue trait. They are generally perfect in all actions.

Nick April would have easily fallen into the Mary Sue trap in the hands of lesser writers, but I think Ciro and his team is doing a fine job avoiding making her too awesome.

Her mental abilities aren't perfect, they seem to work often on their own or reacting in self-defense. And her athletics/acrobatics skills and martial arts skills are gradually getting better, but not surpassing the turtles better, who have been training for around 15 years.

Well she may not be in a "wide" variety of areas but with her psychic powers, she's easily able to defeat the Kraang in one quick mental blow all around her. Plus, at the rate she's learning (seeing her fight with her clones) she'll be able to learn more in a few years compared to the Turtles' 10+ years of expertise. Also, there's not a "wide variety of areas" that TMNT typically focuses on except with these three valuable skills: the fighting, mental concentration, and scientific knowledge. April's already accelerating in 2 of these 3 major areas.

April never really had psychic powers in any other TMNT universe before Nick's right?

Well with Mirage April, wasn't she just a product of the preternatural? In this Nick universe, not only is April a product of the preternatural (mother being alien abducted, and April being a mutant) but the episode is alluding to Nick April acquiring and having superpowers, which is unlike any other April TMNT has had before. So the backstory to how she is able to have these superpowers could most likely be a much more unusual and dramatic backstory.

I guess I can give you this one, except within the OT universe (not only with Casey) because OT April was actually initially suspicious of Turtles in causing all of the crimes even after the Turtles saved her life, in fact they bargain with her in finding the ninja thieves to prove those crimes weren't caused by them.
A friendship doesn't really develop until the second season. In the first season OT April seems to be more concerned in finding the truth behind the crimes rather than protecting/befriending the Turtles. But that's another reason why I enjoy the OT more, April isn't initially attached to the Turtles from the get go, the trust and friendship is more gradual.

Well in "The Kraang Conspiracy", and this is speculative though, April was able to defeat the Kraang and April Derp in one ferocious mental form of energy, read the mental thoughts of all the Kraang meditating (even knowing their plans), and sensing someone (Krutzman) was spying on them. A bit premature and unfair to say this happens all the time ("canon characters are quickly reduced to awestruck cheerleaders"), but it makes the viewer wonder especially when Raph complimented April on how she saved them all, if April can do all this being untrained and unfocused, how powerful can April become when she is focused? With so much of April's sensing, mind-reading, and destructive capabilities, it could almost make the Turtles' fighting ability obsolete (in fighting the Kraang at least) if April can train her mental abilities as fast as her fighting ability.

So Nick April is not exotically beautiful unless anyone does think so with Nick April now being a female mutant. But you forgot the whole love triangle crush thing April will supposedly have with Donnie and Casey... and that's unlike anything TMNT has had before, but is popular with Mary Sue characters in being the most desired.

So, as I was stating before, she may not fit the exact "gold standard" of being a Mary Sue, but there are some traits though. At the very least, Nick April is the most "Mary Sue"ish of the other Aprils though... right?

She may have some MS traits, but I still like her character, and she's not flat out annoying like many other Mary Sues I've read in fan fiction, so she gets a plus for that. The writers are doing a good job of developing her character and letting her learn gradually. It would have been different if the Turtles had told her, "Yeah, you should go on missions with us even though you haven't trained as long as we have." However, they didn't and pointed out that she wasn't ready. She, in turn, did it anyway which showcased how stubborn she really was in the episode, which is a flaw in my book. She's not perfect or flawless at all, thus she's not a full-fledged Mary Sue.

Plus, she makes mistakes during a few of those bouts with Karai. I'm not totally sure as to what defines a Mary Sue character but I think they're supposed to be perfect in all walks of life. They seem to possess just the right skill for every situation. This April is far from flawless. She's alright at infiltration EG Panick in The Sewers, and she's getting to be a somewhat formidable fighter EG Karai's Vendeta. She does mess up rather frequently. The writers haven't gone out of their way to prove that she's a skilled chef, or perfect in numerous other fields of expertise. She gets by with what she has, and just barely at times, I guess. Isn't a mary sue also supposed to save the day every time? She certainly hasn't done much of that. Now if we start seeing allot more of what happened in Kraang Conspiracy, then I'd say we'd have a problem. But I think the writers know what they're doing, so April's in good hands. Well I'm pretty sure she is.
