I do have an idea, Tang Shen's family bloodline come from Tang Sect. Tang Sect is a school of assassins in several works of chinese wuxia fiction. They specialized in poisons and hidden weapon. Tang Shen has no talent, and her kindness does not allow it, but her sister, Tang Amaya has talented and willing to learn.
