Yeah, like Gunn's Superman was supposedly based off of the critically acclaimed All-Star Superman.

We've seen over and over again girl boss movies failing enormously at the box office, even ones that are really good. I see absolutely nothing here that makes me think this is going to be the movie to reverse the trend. And the energy this trailer gives off is going to be off-putting.

I saw what was, I guess, a trailer for the trailer (clown world), and a lot of the comments were calling it "Supergirl: Guardian of the Galaxy" or something like that.

The movie might be baseline entertainment, but I just can't imagine this bolstering a "Universe of film content".

I dunno. Maybe? I dunno.

I just now saw the trailer Zarius posted above there. Um. Yeah. They should have gone for Michael Turner's version from his World's Finest work and cast Margot Robbie as Supergirl. This isn't going to do well.....

Yeah this isn't a movie I'll see in theaters. I did see Superman in theaters this year, but as I said, I only see maybe 2-3 movies a year in theaters and only the biggest ones. Everything else I wait till it comes out for free in HD on the illegal streaming websites.

If it was a Marvel movie there'd already be a campaign calling haters "Misogynists" and posting comments like "How can you say it's bad until you've paid to see it in the theater - you can't say it's bad until you've done THAT."

On another note if this movie truly doesn't do well (either review wise, or box office wise), I do think it'll cause a serious lost of interest in James Gunn's universe. Superman 2 will probably do well, but beyond that? The fact that there's still no Batman confirmed for this universe this late is already pretty concerning.

There's a lot on the rumor mill about Gunn already quietly being taken off of anything but the "Superman Family" movies. And now he's already saying he has "no idea" what's going on with Lanterns.

I mean if they couldn't do it when the MCU and cinematic universes were hot, what can they expect now. I almost don't want it to fail only because of that one user from the Peacemaker threads, his life was this DCUverse

This is what happens when your creative director spends years doing interviews about his "genius" film slate before even making a single movie.

And as these DCU flicks continue to not look so hot, the bright fun of Superman is going to give way to the very real criticisms such as "you could have used Bizarro along with your weird dimensional plot, but you used a clone instead?!?"

I can definitely see them wanting to get the music "just right," but third composer? Definitely there's been screenings by now so something about the tone probably isn't working.
