Also, season 8 shows the bad guys just finding the Hall of Science as a new hideout. But they’ve been using it since early on in SMA. There’s a couple of other small contradictions, but those are the main ones. So it’ll always be an alternate season 8 for me, instead of a bridge.

This is deeply autistic and nobody cares, but it occurred to me that if you break the series up in 15 issue chunks (not counting the specials) you could make a pretty clean season 8, 9 and 10 out of them.
- 4 miniseries issues + #1-11 = Season 8, ending with the Sword of Eddiku trilogy.
- #12-26 = Season 9, Hob makes his first major play and Shredder finally returns from Limbo.
- #27-41 = Season 10, the end.
