You're right on that aspect, and I was literally just thinking the same thing. No matter how desperate UbiSoft would be to include the Rabbids, they wouldn't reveal them in a demo before even (likely) half of the rest of the cast is shown in demo form.

I'm pretty calm about it myself, most of the time. Though in this example, the other guy was already being a bit of a rude prick. Please let this be a sick joke. While it wouldn't completely deter me from buying/playing the game, it would make it less enjoyable to me.

To some degree, I actually think their inclusion really would ruin the game for me. They have no business being in this game AT ALL.

I swear, if they put these stupid things in instead of Usagi, I'm going to be super ticked. They better add at least a dozen more TMNT characters to make up for this. At least now I have a couple characters that I know I won't be playing, like ever.

Well I'm going to be breaking down this rumor,

Japan Expo was July 3rd-5th in Paris and as of right now the expo already finished.

We first heard of the "rumor" July 3rd from P-nintendo.com. Of course They don't say its a rumor their article says they sent someone to the Japan Expo and that he said he found that. I have no idea how reilable p-nintendo.com though it seems to be a regular news website.


Weird that we heard nothing from this after that post Which was 3 days ago. Paris is a big city someone else had to have reported this.


Not to mention Jeux-France.com (now gamekyo.com) HAS broken a few stories/screenshots before. Surely they would have had something right?
The only thing they have from Japan expo this year is a trailer of RE Darkside Chronicles which is a game from Capcom a japanese company.


Ubisoft is indeed from France, so that does strengthen the rumor however what would they have to do in a JAPAN Expo? Its not a videogame expo.



So yeah there are only three things that make this rumor likely:
1. Ubisoft is from France.
2. We don't know if P-nintendo.com is not reliable, it could very well be. (if they are why would they ruin it with such a stupid fake scoop?)
3. Ubisoft is run by idiots and it wouldn't be surprising for them to pull something like this.


But other than that there are also plenty of things against it, no one else from france(people) has written anything about it, gamekyo a big gaming site from france had nothing about this, ubisoft at japan expo makes no sense. New demo with new characters etc.

Well Usagi has a licensing issue that ubisoft may not want to pay. However theres plenty of characters they could have used from the TMNT-verses so the roster better be damn good.


The video also shows at least more playable stages, wish we could see what they are.

Y'know, this actually wouldn't bother me so much if they just had one rabbid with like a dozen different costumes to pick from, but it really doesn't make sense to have two different character slots for him. Heck, I'd even take a character from Assassin's Creed or Prince of Persia. They at least fit in a bit better. Whatever. I'm still optimistic. I mean, we can all just agree not to use them, right?

I do think most technodromers are going to overreact over this and say the game now sucks.


The game will still be a fun game, I mean the rabbids change nothing, except for the fact that they are taking two character spots, which makes no sense at least only occupy one of them not two rabbids just with different costumes..

If the final character roster is big and has most of the characters we want then I won't care for the rabbids, I just won't play as them. I'd only be very pissed if the final roster is something like this:

Oh my god this sucks! It does not make any sense why there has to be theese stupid rabbids. The roster has to be pretty nice, like you all said.

The stages on the new video from left to right as best as I can tell:

1. Dojo (seen at E3)
2. Rooftops (seen at E3)
3. New -- looks like another sewer stage, maybe a subway station
4. Sewer (seen at E3)
5. New -- looks like a canyon stage
6. New -- looks like an ocean or beach stage
7. Jungle (seen at E3)
8. Japanese Castle (seen on the IGN blog: http://blogs.ign.com/Ubi_TMNT/)
9. Alien Base (not sure what it is exactly, but it was seen at E3)
10. New -- looks like a western themed stage
11. New -- looks like some sort of castle in the background with a large moon above
12. New -- looks like a dark, secret base of some sort

Maybe its just one rabbid who has alternate costumes, and since theres no way to show that during the demo they just added him as two different characters. Hell the demo only has Casey playable from the recently announced characters, that probably means the others weren't ready for the preview build. Why would 2 rabbids be available? most likely they are the same. This could be pretty cool since I wouldn't mind seeing a prince of persia dressed rabbid as long as they are all 1 character. also who knows maybe he'll be an awesome character to play as.


Again as long as the character roster is good I won't have any problem with it. I mean the biggest appeal to the game is the turtle universe, if not I'd be playing Smash Brawl instead of buying this game.



Anyways, I'd want to comment on the stages but the video quality is way too low to actually tell anything from the tiny pictures. One thing though they do look a bit like generic stages Heres hoping we do get more TMNT themed stages like a technodrome, foot lair, etc

But one of those levels is probably the turtles lair, the Utrominator video has the turtles lair as a stage and its one that hasn't been revealed yet. Its different from the dojo stage too since I never saw the dojo stage have a second part of the stage.

Ugh... if the Rabbids really have to be in, I hope that they really are just one character with several costumes... but crap, dude, what the hell? There's thousands of TMNT characters out there and people have huge wishlists of characters they'd like to see in this game... but Ubisoft decided to waste a character slot (maybe even two or more) on a character that not only has NOTHING to do with the TMNT, but doesn't even fit with them to begin with?

This is just... gah! Everything was tolerable up to this point. Now my hopes have plummeted. I'm really not sure what to expect now.

I'm kind of cool with the idea of one joke character. Lots of fighting games have them. But I really wish it had been a Turtles-related joke character. At least use the Turlte-themed Rabbids they already had designed.

And I still harbor an extreme dislike for the things after they ruined the Rayman series.

My hope is that these Rabbids don't count towards the final roster that was approved by Mirage. Could you imagine UbiSoft telling Mirage to leave slots open for Rabbids?

Like Vernon? Haha, I actually think I prefer the rabbids over Vernon. If it's just one rabbid, I'll be happy. They can just give him different costumes for all the different Ubisoft characters so we don't have to waste any more space on Ubi characters.

Anyway, I've managed to narrow my wishlist down to a bare minimum... and it's still rather large. Please don't screw this up, Ubisoft -- give us a decent TMNT roster first, then throw whatever extra character you want into the game.
