Tried seeing the midnight showing last night, but the Taxis weren't in operation at that time. Will see it tonight though.

If all Harley is, is a sex object in this film than how is that a good character?

I miss the Harley of the 90's. She was a sympathetic and enjoyable character you could root for. What did they do to you?

He isn't the villain - he basically serves the same function as Deadshot's daughter.

Now they expect you to root for her for the sake of her booty.

Spoiler! There's one scene where he's trying to intimidate a man tied to his chair and Leto seems like he's making a gay seduction move on him? Moving his hands all over his shoulders, touching his face and sitting on his lap whilst their crotch meet together?? I don't even know what happened..

But that's my only complaint. The Squad members are mostly great tbh.
He was making him uncomfortable. It wasn't a "gay suduction" move...you are thinking way to much into this...the homophobia is strong with this one...

People are so delusional...she has booty shorts on. That's as far as it goes besides some dialogue between her and a guard that is mixed with innuendos and threats. She is portrayed as a psychopath, badass, who also has a soft spot and wants love and a normal life. If you only see her as a sex object in this movie then that's on you. The movie did a great job with her character.

Not true what so ever.

LOVED it. Based on reactions, so did most of the theater.

Harley was perfect, Deadshot came pretty darn close to making me see Floyd Lawton instead of "Will Smith in an eyepiece", Joker was great, Enchantress was creepy, Waller was just icy frosted ACES, and El Diablo was great.

The movie was exactly what was promised in the trailers. I went in expecting the story to be "meh" but the characters great; it far exceeded my expectations.

Civil War dropped to #2 on my list of this year's best movies.

She's sexualized for sure, but that's not all she is. She has heart, naivety, and moments of real humanity.

Yup. Well said. The sexuality is there but she's a well rounded character(no pun intended).

I had ONE complaint about the movie:
Spoiler:

Why the heck does Batman kiss Harley Quinn? That was just so bizarre and out of character. Disturbing.

He was giving her CPR. Harley turned that into a kiss, and that's why you see him grab her throat and hold her down once she comes to

To address others:

The source material is new 52, where she is wearing the exact same shorts and arguably less clothing. That is where she is sexualized.
If you're referring to her behavior, that's what she should be doing. She's a psycho. If she can unnerve people by teasing them like that, of course she's going to be doing it. That's right in line with her character.

Leto getting his hand kisses and then sitting on him wasn't "homosexual"
The joker, sans the other 2 live action jokers, has ALWAYS done stuff like this. It's goofy yet can also unnerve them. 100% in character.

Seriously, the only critique I can honestly see any weight to is that there was a little bit of a pacing issue in the middle.

I was wondering if that was the answer... it just seemed weird that she needed CPR when she had already attacked him under water and he knocked her out. But I'll go with that... planning to see this one again in theaters whenever my bro gets back from vacation. I told him I'd wait and see it with him, so nobody rat me out, okay?

I saw it today, it was good and better than Batman vs Superman. I think the critics were too harsh.

My favorite characters were Harley and Deadshot. I did like the score as well.

I still don't get why this movie was rated 15 in the UK though, it could have easily be rated 12A. Deadpool is rated 15 in the UK and it's more violent, bad language ect than Suicide Squad.

Goddamn, this has me worried about Bruce Timm's "Batman and Harley" animated movie next year. Especially after he had Batman bang Batgirl.

He didn't. Brian Azzarello did.

I enjoyed suicide squad a lot, waller was a good bad guy but enchantress was better. I don't get the hate for the latter and think that waller is overrated as a bad guy, she's good but she's not GREAT, it's better than guardians of the galaxy, I like that too but honestly think it's overrated as well. Unlike that, suicide squad was actually funny. Enchantress is really sexy and is like a superior version of apocalypse from x-men: apocalypse, she actually took on the whole squad and was more charismatic. A couple or three songs from the suicide squad soundtrack in suicide squad hurt it, I wish that the enchantress and harley was in it more, and that captain boomerang and flag were more useful when there were fights going on. I feel as if flag did a bit too much talking for someone who's the leader of a group. The critics were wayyyy too harsh on the movie. I like leto as joker, still hate the lack of eyebrows and grilled teeth though.

The f*ck they weren't. I just got back from it, it was a pile of s*it. BVS was better, and I don't even like that movie much either.

More detailed review.

Spoiler:
Harley and Joker's relationship is void of any detail, we're sort of fed the cliff notes, but for a casual there is nothing there to give them an inkling into how those two work. I thought for sure there'd be something more made of Mr. J abandoning Harley to drown, and for there to be some friction, but no,, she exists to be Joker's girlfriend and that's that.

Leto sucked btw.

I have a suspicion that the Doctor being freed from Enchantress at the end was a re-shoot and there was meant to be a downbeat ending for Flagg.

El Dibalo was the best character, got a decent build up throughout the film in terms of the scope of his character and power, we peered into his struggles and we were rewarded with a pay-off where he steps up and takes charge at the cost of his life

Why was there a song every two minutes? I think they were trying intentionally to cram as many snippets of songs in there so they could top the amount used in Guardians

Affleck was great, even liked the kiss of life he gave Harley.

Waller was effective and cruel...kind of wished she had more to do after she wiped out the FBI agents.

Croc and Kitana needn't have been there

Breather in the bar was pretty good, but suffered from repetitive plot points and woeful dialogue in places.

Another thing that would have been better is if Waller and Flagg boarded the hijacked helicopter with the Squad, Joker showed his hand and attacked in the chopper, there's a struggle, the copter crashes, and THEN Waller gets captured, and there's more friction between Flagg and the Squad. But no, we get a big long scene where Harley nearly escapes and we get another of The Joker's numerous "deaths" that he miraculously escapes from at the end.

Yikes these reviews. I wasn't planning on seeing it right away and these reviews aren't exactly making me want to change my mind.

Terrible show. I liked the guy that voiced Spidey though, same guy from the Neversoft PS1 games.
