Hmm...So the spider arms actually are part of the costume, huh? Lame, they really break up the sleekness of the costume itself. Other than the arms I still say it looks good though.

I just wish they'd make his eyes white.

The costume itself is still unoriginal. Spidey is still holy and magical, and therefore dead as far as I'm concerned. Whoever drew that pic is a good artist. But whoever colored that pic... either didn't care about details or needs to practice shading. The lighting is all wrong on Spidey -- the colorist was so concerned with making the costume look metallic (which s/he succeeded in doing) that the form was muchly overlooked. Spidey's face looks very lumpy, for example.

Soon there will be a string of gas stations, inexpensive motels, restaurants that serve rapidly prepared food! Tire salons, automobile dealerships and wonderful, wonderful billboards reaching as far as the eye can see! My God... It'll be beautiful.

Okay, here we go...

And I do realize that there are some odd pixels on his head and hands, but that's because of the reflections and all that sh*t. I could work around them, but since that picture is ugly to begin with, I won't.

And somone asked me (not here) to do a Green Lantern edit. So I did.

From all I've read, those things aren't robot arms. I read that they're organic.

And that suit won't last very long... most likely. There's been a lot of rumours about a big fight between Iron Man and Spider-Man in the upcoming Civil-War-storyline.

Is there any hope of Spidey returning to his true form?

As I've stated already, the costume design doesnt bother me except for a few quibbles(Color..those stupid extra spider limbs).

What I want is the *true* hero. The hero whos powers were both his blessing, and his curse. Not some mystic shaman what have you flavor of the moment thingy.

I guess I can always go back and read my issues from the late 70's. At this point im half tempted to have the alien symbiote bond with him and have him become Venom already. At least the weird story lines might make some sense.

...At least he hopefully remains somewhat consistant in The New Avengers, I've heard good things about that...need to check it out.

So "The Other" is over. And I really like the ending. Some of his new powers are really neat, like that websense and the sticky back. Makes him more spidery. Now that we get to see more spidery stuff, I realize how unspidery he was. I hope they'll keep those two.

But they can get rid of those spikes... and the extra legs... and the costume.

I just read an interview that JMS did over at the rama. and it appears the arms are indeed mechanical. and the reason for the suits color are because it was designed and built by tony stark. I mean come on think of the character it makes a lot of sense that he would have the suit be yellow and gold.

You know, I hope Civil War will be a huge Retcon, allthough I like some of Spidey's new powers (see post above). I mean, I always felt that Spidey not being able to fly makes him different from the other heroes. But I guess, he has to fly now, since it's the "kewl" thing to do.

Oh, and there's also good news:

Could you specify on this? What's a websense and a sticky back?

Websense: Just like a spider, Spidey can feel what happens in his net. He can feel the stuff that goes on around him when he uses his net. This is pretty cool, because I can imagine a lot of cool uses for that, like setting traps or tracking.

Sticky back: Some spiders carry their kids on their back and now Spider-Man can do that too with people, which gives him more freedom while carrying stuff and people. I like this new power just because it's spidery. I can't imagine a good use with it, thinking that he'll have three huge mechanical Spider-arms on his back...

I guess i like those new powers too, the Sticky back and sensitivity to vibration and all that. Very Spidery and usefull as powers go.

I just would rather not see the things that de humanize him. The limbs are what does it for me, Man Spider all over again. I do like the features Tony Stark built into the armor though, The Eyepieces that can zoom in like binoculars. The infra red vision. Didnt Spiderman unlimited have that though?

And is it just me or does Spidey look like an iron man clone now.

"Hey look..its Iron Man...no..wait, hes sticking to the side of that wall...thats SPIDER MAN!"

In my mind, Spidermans original red and Blue colors will always be a classic, but Im thinking spidey should be more ninja like. Instead of having a completely black outfit which would be a bit dull it is a practical color. How about that image in Black but with a royal blue spider motif and blue eyepieces.
