I think female slash would be pretty cool. Depending on how she was written. I like the idea of not really good not really bad. As I dont think ot slash was truelly evil.

I'm glad you like the idea! I really think that the Slash name could work for a female character, because somebody in this thread reminded me that the word 'slash' is a verb, after all, and I think because us fans have such a connection to the male Slash that we automatically associate the word with masculinity.

No absolutely not. This would mean there is zero chance of seeing the Slash we know and love and he's one of my favorite characters. I dont really have a problem with having a new female turtle appear as long as she is unrelated to the original four and not a family member at all. Im even ok with a new take on Venus as long as she isnt the turtles sister cousin mom etc... love interest is ok with me tho.

CrazySquirel. Thank you for saving us! You make great points about Venus. That’s exactly who I want her to be: a love interest. But to stay on topic, you’re right on Slash. In fact, making Slash into a girl, to me, is like turning Joker into a woman. If they weren’t a woman to begin with, don’t change their genders. Let’s see what Kevin Eastman will do with the character.

The Nick cartoon is an alternative story, I see nothing wrong really to change characters. As long as they are well written .

I understand you're probably a big Slash fan, but I think comparing him to the Joker is a little extreme. It's not like he's had a big impact on the franchise. He had an action figure, made a small handful of appearances on the OT, and a few appearances in the Archie comic. That's it, really. He is hardly in the same status as someone like The Joker, who is almost as big an iconic character as Batman is.

I'm not a fan of alternate universes or elseworlds. To me, if someone was originally written as a guy in a comic, they should be forever that gender. If someone was a woman in a comic, they should be that gender, too. I know writters have taken risks, but I just don't like that. Futigoid, you're right. Joker is a lot more iconic than Slash. I just couldn't think of the right comparison because the idea sounded a bit weird.

I like how some people are taking this to the extreme, making a fleeting idea into some sort of Ninja Turtle apocalypse. It's not like this would change the whole spectrum of the mythos, the overall premise, or the "Turtle-verse" as a whole. We're not talking about changing Splinter female, thus turning her into some form of school marm who whaps the turtles with a ruler or bamboo stick and changes their character development. It's friggin' Slash, a character that had as much thought put into it as the evil versions of the Star Trek crew by slapping goatees on them. Jeez.

Sure, why not? Give Leo an excuse to finally kill the twerp. Though the fact that the entire Foot Clan is male wouldn't give a male Karai any distinction or interest. Karai would then just be an overly hyped Foot Soldier with fancier garb and dialogue.
