oops i just recalled that the idea of dark turtles goes frm enemy to friend already exists... in FF, actually... remember the dark leo dark raph and ect...? but o well, new male slash can always be just villain anyways. i mean, beside shredder. and it d be interesting to c a villain turtle ally with shredder, u kno, coz the shredder hates turtles, but to fight side by side with a turtle? maybe that will change the his whole life... and slash really sounds like a villain name! maybe he will be shredder's "son"! remember that when shredder met leo for the 1st time and he wanted to ally with him??

Yeah, this is kinda what I was thinking. Maybe she's a tragic character; while there is good in her, she always chooses to travel on the wrong side of the law (much like Karai), and that could affect Raph, who could develop feelings for her. Knowing that he will never be able to be with this female Slash could add to Raph's moody-ness and angst.

While I'm certainly not suggesting that Nick or IDW or whoever should change the sex of an established character, I just wanted to theorize about making a fifth, female mutant turtle interesting and enteraining if they were to include one in one of the new iterations. And instead of rehashing Venus, maybe they could take a character that isn't that well known outside of us hardcore fans and tweeking it to change things up and make things unique and different, no matter how "boring" Mr. Turtle thinks it could be.

how abt a Fugitoid's brother? or childhood buddy? he can be either human form or a robot as well too. and he is the new blood of the shredder. and the storyline can be very twisted when Fugitoid met his best buddy in person during a mission with the turtles...

But seriously I dont like this idea. I like the idea of slash as a turtle from a different dimension that is an evil version of all the turtles combined. Seems generic for any super hero show I mean,
Spider man : Venom
Green Laterns : Red Laterns
Sonic : Shadow
TMNT : Slash

I'm not keen on a female Slash or Venus character being introduced into the turtle -verse. I just don't like the type of storylines that would follow, especially if they decided to make one of the turtles have a thing for her, especially if it was eigther Raphael or Leonardo. Why introduce a "Jean Grey" character into a volatile Wolverine and Cyclops type of characters? I just really don't want to writers to go there. I am not entirely averse to Slash being female, as long as they don't go the "turtles have a thing for her" I would be ok. I know alot of people like Ninjara, but I wasn't too keen on her either.

Yea seriously. I think it worked with Loki...but that was badass and it's easy to see why they did it. Switching genders doesn't make any sense for Turtles characters.

a female Slash would rule!!! there's nothing about the character that demands being a dude, his characterization is broad enough. and in a new incarnation/new continuity why the hell not? anything could work. execution is everything.

I like it the way it is. 4 good turtles and one bad one would be great for a bizzarro-like twist but the female takes away from the unique factor of there only ever being them. Slash needs attention but not Venus or a female version of good ole Slash. Though please do press the IDW guys for Slash to appear. Perfect character study,one shot would be great for that and for you to do art on.

seems to me very unlikely Nickelodeon would make Slash female, but even if they did, the original male Slash in his various incarnations would always remain, he wouldn't go away or be retroactively affected by the new show!

While listening to the episode of the What the Shell? podcast where they discuss the MCM Con in London (at least that's what I think it was called), specifically the panel with Kevin Eastman and more of the Nick crew, they discussed someone asking Kevin about Venus. The Turtles don't have a ton of classic female villains, and Slash has had a limited presence in the Turtle-verse. I actually think that changing Slash's sex to female would be a neat change.

What do you guys think? Am I crazy for thinking this? Or does this sound like a decent idea with the rest of you?

I think you have a point, I think both characters should be used again, especially slash, I would like to see a female turtle, but kind of rogue, not good or bad, just on her own... I would like to see both of these characters in IDW or Nick cartoon

You know, I really like this idea a lot. I doubt they'll do this for an incarnation, but you've now given me a plot bunny to work with. Mind you, it might take a little while for me to get it up, but I'm going to do some serious thinking on this matter. As for the name, the idea could be that the Foot don't know she's a female at first and give her the name of Slash. And if she goes good, she could always change the name herself if she really wanted to. I like the idea of her being sort of like Raph's Karai. That would be awesome and make for a good conflict with Leo about honor and the like.
