Is Raph the main hero? ***Movie Spoilers obviously***

The scenes I've seen Mikey with April is creeptastic, and nicely mirrors the "Nice Guys" I've encountered online.

You try to be nice and deflect it with humor or direct the conversation to something else, but damn. "My shell's tightening." A friend of mine was almost kidnapped on the open street cause he felt he needed to let loose his tight shell, luckily she found a police officer who she had to stay with until she got home.

April barely had any screen time with mikey to tell him to knock it off or play along. April had more screen time with raph and then it's more like 'shut up and drive Vernon.' April barely knew the turtles. We, as the audience, barely knew the turtles. Games this movie irritates me to no end.

Exactly. There was barely any conversation in this movie between April and turtles. It felt like they cut everything out to add more blurry action scenes.

I didn't see anything wrong with the Mikey's banter towards April, it was an extension from the first movie, really. He's a teenager and she's a 'sex symbol', something decided by human culture years before this movie was made. (And to the question about a large, gay male hitting on me repeatedly, I work with several gay guys who do this to me regularly, it's harmless and humorous.)

I'm sure I'll get flamed to hell and back for this, but I'm a hippie kinda guy and I honestly believe the 'hero' of the movie was family. No one would have been saved if it weren't for family. It wasn't any singular person or turtle, but the love for each other that kept them all going.

Raph didn't take up that much of the other turtle's screen time actually....

and April/Vernon/Raph all helped saved the turtles.......and everyone was back together super quickly.

April did a lot of saving in the movie (I'm proud of her *_*)

Vern was the one trying get at O'neil the whole time, Mike's was just playful flirting. Also yes it was a Raph centered movie. The end where he is spilling his heart about why he's such a bully all the time and he fights the shredder one on one. My two cents

Willing to bet and hoping that this will turn up on the disks. Unless it was overly brief and nothing to it, but doubting that if they went so far as to make a figure. If they don't include it as part of the extras, shame on them.

Actually, that's exactly who she was portraying.

Based on the footage shown to press and the trailers thus far, the new "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" movie doesn't make much of an attempt to make the property darker or more serious than past iterations, unlike multiple other franchise reboots. In fact, Liebesman cites the late '80s/early '90s TMNT cartoon as this biggest inspiration for him, tonally, in putting together the film -- something that's reflected in the presence of characters like Vern Fenwick (Will Arnett) and Bernadette Thompson (Whoopi Goldberg), a gender-swapped version of the original cartoon's Burne Thompson.

To answer the op, yes. He actually turned out to be my fav turtle in the movie and his speech at the end was touching

Phenomenon def had the most character development in this.

Not sure how it was touching if there wasn't any build up to it....

All we saw was him being grouchy and giving Leo some lip. We never saw how he acted towards the others, or if he picked on Mikey and Donnie like he suggested. Plus we barely met the Turtles and almost in the first scene Raph is talking about leaving the team. After what? Ten minutes we've gotten to know the characters?

The main problem with this scene is that it ASSUMES we've seen the turtles in other media and that should apply here. Yeah, Raph basically picks on everyone in the Nick show, but that is not THIS Raph. This is not a sequel or a continuation of the past series, this is a whole new thing.

We barely know THIS Raph. His line lost all impact. Now if had said this in the sequel (assuming of course he got more character development).... then yeah, this would have worked.
