I've let it go, I'm good with Odyssey. I'll enjoy any additional Mirage stories we get, but I've been placated and I'm not putting any faith in Peter Laird to tell anymore tales, let alone good ones.

Thanks Nines, that's exactly what I meant. Probably could have worded it better in hindsight.

I don't think PL is doing any more issues, or am I wrong?

Right now he isn't, but he could always change his mind.

He isn't. But Mirage still has that clause that allows them to print like 16 issues per year. I don't know if that only lasts the rest of Peter's lifetime, or just as long as Mirage exists in some form.

I just wish he'd let Jim & the guys make use of it. He himself doesn't have to be involved at all in the creative process, just put his name in the credits & call it a day. There's no reason we shouldn't have a Tales Vol. 3 making use of the Mirage vets & new talent alike, same as before.

I've clarified it. It's 18 issues a year, and it dies with Peter while being 100% un-transferrable. It makes sense. I respect it. I'd probably make that same deal, in his shoes.

I would love a Tales Volume Three more than anything. And from the things I've heard about the Image series, I'd like for Image to take another crack at this.

Do we know if Jim Lawson offered Peter Laird to work on his own on some official books ? Would it be issue #33 or a new Tales Volumes.

Thanks for clearing that up. It also makes tons of sense from Viacom's standpoint. It keeps, say, Peter's crazy second cousin from printing some garbage as "Mirage Publishing".

Agreed. I'd trust Jim and Steve (with some Tristan) to run with the Mirage torch.

Yea, but what if he goes senile or something? Just because you live a long life, doesn't mean your mind or body are gonna function properly the entire time. My grandma who died last summer suffered Dementia for like the last decade of her life.

Why can't he just let Lawson take over and finish it up? He'd probably have no problem crafting a good set of stories and finishing it off. I get that Laird has zero interest in TMNT and that's fine but some of us want to see volume 4 concluded. It's asinine to just sit on it and let nobody else finish it.

Gotta agree with you on that. Laird's kinda like that big brother who doesn't let the younger siblings play with his toys even though he's lost interest in them.
